Dear Families,
What an amazing first two weeks we have had. Thank you for making sure your child comes ready for learning!
We want to invite you to keep healthy snacks for your children. Chocolates, candies, and sodas are not allowed. Portion control is very important. Snacks should be served in appropriate portion sizes. Eating healthy can help our students retain information and focus.

Our Essayists will continue finding evidence to support their ideas by selecting mini-stories, lists or quotes. In addition, they will be learning how to study literary essays to find structures for their own literary essays.

Los lectores continuarán estudiando al personaje, también estudiarán el trabajo del autor, con que propósito hizo algunos movimientos y pondrán atención a la lección de vida que dejó el autor.
What readers & writers could be doing at home...
Los lectores leerán unlibro ficción de su preferencia, prestandole atencion al personaje y anotar si el personaje cambia de alguna manera, en qué parte de la historia lo hace y por qué.
Mathematics
Learning Goal
Students will be able to explore benchmarks and relative sizes for length, time , liquid volume, mass, and weight.
What mathematicians are doing at school...
Students will use ratio tables to convert units between the same measurement system, and apply some of the place value and multi -digit computational skills they have been practicing to solve story problems related to measurement.

We will learn to identify stereotypes about groups of people and replace them with fresh thinking.
What tigers are doing at school..
Identify stereotypes or beliefs that exist about groups.
Replace a stereotype thought with a fresh thought that shows we all have similarities and differences.
Challenge stereotypes to make sure others feel valued and to learn more about them.
What tigers could be doing at home...
Observe stereotyped messages in the environment (in school, on TV, in stories) and how these messages affect the way students behave.
