Kindergarten News

Dear Kindergarten Families,

December is here and we are getting ready to finish strong and a lot of learning is happening. This week in expeditions we had a special visitor, she talked about the creation of the ANS logo and what colors, lines, and shapes they used to create it and how it has changed over time. In writing workshop, kindergartners had a great week continuing writing true stories and making sure their writing is easy to read. In math, they worked in writing equations for story problems.

Today we are sending out our Friday Feedback folder, please go over it with your child; please make sure to send it back on Monday.

Friends and learners identify fixed and growth mindset thoughts.

Friends and learners turn thoughts from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset.

Friends and learners gain an understanding of how having a growth mindset changes thoughts, feelings, and actions.

What friends and learners are doing at school...

Learners learn the difference between worm thoughts and caterpillar thoughts, and understand how caterpillar thoughts help them develop and maintain a growth mindset and believe they can change, learn, and grow over time.

Children draw something they are currently learning and something they would like to learn in the future. At the end, we reflect on how caterpillars grow into butterflies when we learn new things.

What friends and learners could be practicing at home...
