3rd Grade News

Dear Parents,

A huge thank you to all the mystery readers. You have made our day special by sharing your stories and treats with our students.

Congratulations to the Book Week committee! It was a huge success and we shall continue to foster love of reading and love of books.

In Literacy, our readers and writers widen their field of focus and see patterns across the texts, books, and articles that they read. The last stretch in this unit focuses on synthesizing, comparing, and contrasting. We dive deep into reading beyond the text. They also start asking questions using “Why, How, and What if.” We strongly encourage our students to read their books daily. At this point in time, we highly recommend reading both fiction and nonfiction books. In Math, the students are exploring the attributes of the different quadrilaterals and the different angles.

Next week, students will be taking the MAP test. The test will be taken on the following dates:

3A, 3B, 3C

What friends and learners are doing at school...

Compromise and respect others’ ideas when resolving conflicts.

Consider potential consequences of solutions before using a solution.
