Dear 5th Grade Families,

This week we took our first round of MAP Reading tests in fifth grade. Next week, we will complete our round on MAP Math assessments. 5B will start swimming on Monday, August 28th - September 11th. Mathematicians will demonstrate their thinking of multiplication and volume through a checkpoint and class discussions.

Mathematicians will practice multi-digit multiplication strategies, including partial products.

What mathematicians could be doing at home...

Science or Social Studies

Learning Goal

Scientists will practice their observation, questioning and data collection skills in order to help redesign the OWL by analyzing the way they learn in their class and how the different spaces in their homerooms affect their learning.

Designing, questioning, discussing, and brainstorming ideas about the various learning spaces in the homeroom and OWL classrooms.

What scientists could be doing at home...

Continue thinking, conversing about, and experimenting with how the furniture/design of their house affects daily activities in the various spaces of the home.
