2nd Grade News
Dear 2nd Grade Families,
February has gone super fast!! Our students have been very busy working on several learning activities, they celebrated their Art and Innovation Exhibition, they have been preparing their Science Engineering projects and they closed an important Unit in Poetry. Our poets had an amazing experience writing powerful poems, editing and revising with our Secondary Poets who came to support them this week. Our poets felt very proud of themselves posting their masterpieces on our Poetry Gallery Wall! This coming week also brings a great learning environment charged with full activities: Our students will start a brand new Reading Fiction Unit, they will be working in book clubs, thinking about the character and how they can transfer those skills into their real lives. During Math they will begin a new Unit, Counting to the Thousands and practicing Place Value Understanding. During Phonics they will continue learnng about inflectional endings, long vowels and spelling new patterns. Please remember that on Feb. 14th, each student needs to bring one valentine card for each classmate. Please remember to send the treats on the 13th to share on the 14th. Please find below our learning focus for next week.
