As she held her newborn daughter in her arms, slowly rocking back and forth in the rocking chair they'd bought when Jamie was a baby and singing a gentle lullaby to help soothe her back to sleep, Haley's eyes wandered over to her husband who was lying in the middle of their bed propped up against a mountain of pillows with Jamie's head in his lap. Both father and son were fast asleep and she bit her lip to stop herself from aww-ing at the adorable sight they made. If she wasn't trying to settle Emma, she'd go and grab her camera because the way they looked right now was just too cute for words.
Smiling down at the new addition to their family, she saw the baby's chocolate brown eyes were wide open, looking up at her. "You obviously don't take after your Daddy or your big brother, huh?" Haley whispered before leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to her daughter's forehead. Emma gurgled, her tiny hand squeezing around her mother's forefinger.
As she continued rocking her baby girl and humming the familiar tune, she looked over again at Nathan and Jamie and chuckled under her breath.
At least the lullaby was having the desired effect on them.
