Summary: Haley’s beautiful mouth always caught his eye, even more so after she’d applied her favorite fruit-flavored gloss to her lips. He would find himself staring as she talked, his mind busily trying to guess which flavor she’d used today.

Haley’s beautiful mouth always caught his eye, even more so after she’d applied her favorite fruit-flavored gloss to her lips. He would find himself staring as she talked, his mind busily trying to guess which flavor she’d used today. Would it be Pink Grapefruit? Raspberry Lemonade? Or his personal favorite, Cherry Kiss?
The question would niggle at the back of his mind all day until he could take it no more and he’d end up dragging her into the school janitor’s closet. That, or his car during their lunch break.
His mouth would urgently press against hers, his tongue licking and nibbling at her lips before his own would curve upwards into a smirk when he realized that, as usual, he’d managed to guess correctly.
Today, she was wearing his favorite lip gloss and he knew she’d done it especially for him. She was wearing it more often these days and he sure as hell wasn’t complaining. He smiled as he remembered just how passionate her thank you had been when he’d recently bought her some so she could keep it at his apartment for those times she stayed over when her parents were away visiting one or more of her siblings.
Shifting his position in bed, the sheets pooled at his waist, he watched with hungry eyes as Haley brushed her long, honey-blonde hair; pulling it up into a messy bun before picking up the familiar tube of lip gloss and uncapping it. Her eyes met his in the mirror as she slid the applicator across her lips before pressing them together and blowing him a kiss which made him laugh.
“Why don’t you come over here and give me a proper kiss?” he teased, his voice playful as he let his eyes wander all over her.
“Nathan...”
“What?”
“If I come over there I’ll never leave.”
“And that’s a bad thing, why?”
Haley laughed. “My parents are back today and you know how they like to spend some quality time with me to try and make up for their absence.”
Nathan nodded his head. “Yeah, I know. Any chance I could sneak in tonight after they’re asleep?”
Despite her better judgment, she went over and sat down on his bed and, leaning forward, she nuzzled her nose against his before covering his mouth and kissing him softly, her hand coming up to cup his cheek in her palm. “Hmm, I don’t know.” Lightly caressing his skin, she enjoyed the feel of his prickly late-in-the-day stubble beneath the pads of her fingertips. “You might bump into my dad on the stairs on your way up,” she teased.
“Very funny.” Turning his head to the side and taking her hand in his, he pressed a kiss into the centre of her palm. “C’mon, Hales, I’ll sneak out before they wake up.”
“Uh huh, you say that now.”
“Okay, fine. Come here after you’ve caught up with them and say you’re hanging out with Peyton or—”
“I can’t,” Haley interrupted. “It’s... I haven’t seen them in almost a week and I wouldn’t feel right if I hung out with them for just a couple of hours and then took off. I promise I’ll make it up to you, Nathan.”
“Absolutely promise?”
She beamed at him. “I absolutely promise.”
“Okay,” he said, smiling back at her.
Kissing him again, she giggled against his lips when she could feel him licking off the lip gloss she’d only just applied and pulling back from him, she pinched his nipple.
“Ow!”
“Serves you right, honey.” Giving him one last kiss, she got up from the bed and smoothed down the fabric of her skirt. “I’ll call you tonight before I go to sleep, okay?”
Nathan nodded his head in agreement as his eyes took in the gentle sway of her hips as she walked away. God, his girl was hot. “I love you,” he called out before she’d disappeared from view and the smile she gave him when she turned her head made his heart race.
“I love you, too,” Haley replied, a light blush tinting her cheeks as she gave him a final wave.
Laying back against the pillows, Nathan heard the front door close a few seconds later and he smirked as he contemplated just how long he’d have to wait before his gorgeous girlfriend begged him to sneak into her room after dark despite everything she’d just said to him. He knew she’d be waiting for him, her window unlocked and her lips all shiny and pouty…
He turned onto his side and grabbed hold of the pillow Haley’s head had been resting on a short while ago, breathing in her familiar scent as he decided to take a nap because, he thought to himself with a smile, he’d definitely be needing his strength for later.
