Epilogue
“I wish we weren't going home tomorrow,” Haley whispered, snuggling into the warmth of her husband's embrace.
“Me either,” Nathan replied, his arms instinctively tightening their hold around her.
They were sitting on the stretch of private beach behind the cottage they'd been residing in for the past two weeks; Haley situated between his legs, her back resting against his chest while her fingers traced idle patterns over the backs of his hands which were folded across her stomach. For their last night, they had decided to have a picnic whilst watching the sun go down. They'd been out there for quite some time and the sea sparkled and shimmered with its last rays as it disappeared completely over the horizon.
She couldn't believe how quickly their time in Hawaii had flown by. The majority of their days had been spent exploring by land, sea and air. One of their excursions had been to take a trip in a glass bottomed boat and then, once they had dropped anchor, they'd gone snorkelling in the crystal clear aqua waters, swimming amongst colourful tropical reef fish. Another of their outings, which she knew was both hers and Nathan's favourite, was the helicopter tour they'd booked. The views from the air had been breathtaking and, as their pilot had told them, it was the perfect way of seeing the islands' cliffs, forests, volcanic shape, beaches and craters.
During their first week, they'd dined out a lot and visited a few clubs to check out the local nightlife but for their second week, the newlyweds had preferred spending their evenings alone; wanting to make the most of the privacy they were being afforded since they knew only too well that things would return to normal soon enough once they were back home.
“It's so beautiful and peaceful here,” Haley said, sighing quietly as she turned her head slightly so she could look up at him.
Smiling back at her, he said. “Yeah, it is.” Rubbing his cheek against hers, he dipped down and captured her lips, kissing her tenderly.
Reaching up, Haley cupped the back of his head and held him in place as she encouraged him to deepen the kiss. “Let's go inside,” she murmured several moments later, her breathing already ragged.
“No,” he answered, shaking his head and flashing her his trademark smirk. Without saying another word, he managed to maneuver them so that Haley was now straddling his thighs. Gently cradling her face between his palms, he smiled reassuringly at her as he brought her in for another kiss and he moaned into her mouth when he felt her scoot further forward on her knees and wrap her arms around his neck. He could feel himself getting lost in the feel of her soft, pliable lips moving in time with his; her warm, petite body pressed tightly against him.
“Nathan, please... let's go inside.”
Shaking his head again, Nathan slipped his hands beneath the long pale blue T-shirt she wore over her bikini, which she'd pulled on when the sea breeze had picked up, and he caressed her baby soft skin; bringing them around to her front so he could cup her breasts. “Let's stay out here,” he whispered.
Haley bit her lip as the image of him making love to her on the beach suddenly popped into her head. It was something Nathan had jokingly mentioned when they'd first arrived but, for some reason, they hadn't actually done it. That might have had something to do with them being too busy christening every room in the homey two bedroom, two bathroom cottage along with the hot tub that was situated on the deck.
Glancing around them and making sure the coast was clear, she finally responded. “Okay.”
“Sweet!” Capturing her mouth and muffling her giggles, he kissed her while his hands wandered everywhere. He pushed her T-shirt upwards and they only drew back from each other long enough for him to strip it off of her.
The cool breeze felt invigorating on her skin as did her husband's lips as he planted fleeting kisses along her shoulders before slowly inching his way south. She felt his fingers work on unfastening the clasp of her halter-neck bikini top and she found herself holding her breath, releasing it on a breathy sigh when she felt him suck her nipple into the heated cavern of his mouth. Fisting fistfuls of the grey T-shirt he was wearing, she gave herself over to the delicious sensations he was stirring within her. Nathan felt a shiver run through him and he instantly sealed his mouth over hers, his tongue thrusting between her lips and mimicking what their lower bodies would soon be doing. Pushing himself up, he popped the button on his navy blue shorts and lowered the zipper before shucking them and his underwear down his hips. Even though they were on a private beach and it was fairly late, he knew Haley wouldn't want to strip off completely in case anyone did suddenly appear out of nowhere and they needed to re-dress quickly.

Her legs wrapped tightly around his waist and pressed into his sides as she undulated her hips in time with his movements.

“Sure.” Popping another kiss onto her lips, Nathan slowly withdrew from her and then helped her up into a sitting position. Grabbing her discarded T-shirt, he handed it to her and watched as she removed her bikini top completely before slipping the pastel fabric over her head. As she re-dressed and ran her fingers through her mussed hair, he fixed his own clothing and then stood up and holding out his hands to her, he gently pulled her to her feet. Banding his arms around her waist, he ducked his head and instantly found her lips.
Pushing herself up onto her toes, Haley cupped his face between her palms as she kissed him back. “I love you so much,” she whispered.
“I love you, too, baby.” Nathan rested his forehead against hers as he added, “You know, as much as I've enjoyed our honeymoon, I can't wait for us to go home and start the next chapter of our lives together.”
Her smile stretched from ear to ear at hearing his words and she nodded her agreement. “Me either.”
After a few more kisses, they drew apart from each other and began gathering up their stuff before making their way back to the beach house hand-in-hand.

The next morning as Haley double-checked and made sure they'd remembered to pack everything in readiness for their return home, she couldn't help thinking about how far they'd come. Never in a million years had she expected things to turn out the way they had when she'd initially made her request to Nathan for his help, but she couldn't be happier with the outcome. It had turned out to be everything she'd ever wanted and more.
“What'cha thinking about?” Nathan asked as he entered the bedroom and caught the smile on his wife's face.
Her tongue firmly in her cheek, she teasingly replied, “Hmm, just about how tanned I am. Considering how much time we've spent inside, I'm kind of surprised I caught so much sun.”
“Very funny,” he retorted. “We didn't spend that much time indoors.”
“I know.” Walking over to him, Haley slid her palms up his chest and then wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingers idly toying with his hair. “I was actually thinking about how far we've come since that day I stood on your doorstep and asked you to help me out.”
“Did you ever think we'd get here... to this point, I mean?” He already knew the answer but he'd never tire of hearing her response.
“I hoped and dreamed we would...” she whispered, gasping into his mouth as his lips fused with hers. She yelped a few seconds later when she felt him pinch her ass. “Hey!”
“Sorry,” he chuckled. “I just wanted to prove that you weren't dreaming now.”
“Ha ha,” she mocked, cooing happily when he began rubbing over the area.
Tucking a lock of hair behind her ear, he pressed one more kiss onto her lips. “Our story's pretty epic and it's definitely one to tell the grandkids.”
“Riiiiight. We're going to tell them how their grandma wanted to get some hands-on sex education in before she went off to college and so asked their grandpa to give her a helping hand. I don't think so, buddy.”
“Okay,” he laughed, “I guess we can leave that part out.” Lacing their fingers together, Nathan brought her hand up to his lips and pressed a kiss onto her knuckles. “I was thinking more along the lines of telling them that sometimes dreams really do come true.”
Haley's eyes welled with tears at hearing him say that and she swallowed past the lump that had formed in her throat. Nodding, she cupped the back of his head and drew his face towards hers, seizing his lips with her own as she poured everything she felt for him into the kiss.
When they eventually pulled back from one another, she ran her thumb back and forth along his cheekbone as she looked into his beautiful blue eyes and quietly echoed his words, “Yeah, you're right; sometimes dreams really do come true.”
