Summary: “I-I wouldn’t have missed this for anything,” he said, swallowing the lump that had formed in his throat. When he next looked down at the baby, he saw her beautiful eyes flutter open. “You hear that, baby girl... I wouldn’t have missed seeing you born for all the world.”

Author’s Notes: While this isn’t the first piece of fanfiction I’ve written, it is my first time writing for Danny/Lindsay and, for the record, I’m feeling really nervous about posting this. After watching their awesome scenes first thing this morning, I couldn’t resist writing a little something.

A tear rolled down Lindsay’s cheek as she watched Danny sitting beside her on her hospital bed cradling their newborn daughter in his strong arms.

“I can’t believe she’s finally here,” he whispered, mindful of not waking up the sleeping baby. Glancing across at his wife, he frowned when he saw her tears. “Montana, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing... they’re happy tears, I promise.”

Carefully leaning forward, he pressed his lips against hers and kissed her softly. “I love you... so much.”

“I love you, too.” Cupping his face in her palm, she ran her thumb back and forth along his cheekbone, liking the familiar sensation of his stubble tickling her skin.

Danny kissed her once more before gently easing back into his spot, his gaze returning to the precious bundle he was holding. “I can’t believe how small she is.”

“She didn’t feel so small when she was making her entrance into the world,” she teased.

He chuckled before looking at her once more and saying, “I am so proud of you, baby. You were amazing.”

Lindsay smiled at him, giving a small shrug of her shoulders, as she reached out and caressed her daughter’s petal-soft cheek. “I’m glad you were with me.”

“I-I wouldn’t have missed this for anything,” he said, swallowing the lump that had formed in his throat. When he next looked down at the baby, he saw her beautiful eyes flutter open. “You hear that, baby girl… I wouldn’t have missed seeing you born for all the world.”

Fresh tears prickled behind Lindsay’s eyelids at hearing her husband’s words. Damn hormones!

“You wanna hold her?”

Nodding her head, she held out her arms and a moment later he’d placed the little girl into them and she brought her in close to her body, letting the infant snuggle against her chest. “She’s so beautiful,” Lindsay whispered.

“She gets that from her mom.”

She blushed and when Danny leaned towards her, she parted her lips as she impatiently waited for his mouth to touch hers, sighing with blissful relief when it finally did.

Nuzzling his nose against hers, he reluctantly drew back and a broad smile illuminated his face as he took in the sight of his two girls. His family. His whole life.
