Summary: Her craving for chocolate was suddenly overtaken by a craving for something entirely different...

Author’s Notes: For those of you who aren't aware, I tweaked the previous drabble to fit this series.

This has been written for theechochorus, a multi-fandom drabble community.

It was 2 am and the craving was getting worse and, despite having searched all of the kitchen cupboards twice, she couldn’t find what she was desperately wanting. Damn! She was sure she’d bought a couple of boxes the last time they’d gone grocery shopping but they were nowhere to be found. Surely she hadn’t eaten them all and forgotten that she’d done it.

Tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear, Haley rested her hand on her rounded belly, giving it a little rub. “Where are they?” she said out loud.

“Where’s what?”

She jumped at hearing Nathan’s sleep-laden voice coming from behind her and turning to face him, her eyes couldn’t help admiring the view. His pyjama pants were slung low on his hips, displaying the fine trail of hair leading to… um… what was hidden beneath them… His perfectly sculpted chest was bare and his hair was all mussed.

“What are you looking for at…’ He paused to look up at the kitchen clock above her head, ‘… five after two in the morning?”

“Cookies,” she replied. “The Double Stuf Oreos I know I bought the last time we went to the store.”

“You want cookies now?”

“The baby wants them,” she said, giving him her best pout.

“Oh, the baby wants them, huh?” He smirked as he ran a hand through his hair. “Nugget actually wants Double Stuff Oreos,” he said, using the nickname that Jamie had christened his unborn sibling with after seeing it for the first time on the ultrasound screen at the doctor’s office with them.

“Okay, well maybe not them in particular but he or she wants chocolate and I can’t think of anything else we’ve got that has chocolate in it.”

Crossing the kitchen to where she was standing, Nathan cupped her cheek in his palm and tilted her face backwards to meet his kiss. “I think there’s some chocolate milk in the fridge.”

Haley shook her head. “No, I don’t want chocolate milk. I was going to have a glass of regular milk with my cookies but I can’t find them anywhere.” Giving him a pointed look, she said, “You didn’t eat them, did you?”

“Nope. Did you look in the actual cookie jar?”

“Uh huh… There’s nothing in it but for those ginger cookies Deb likes and the thought of eating one of those is making me nauseous.”

Wrapping his arms around her waist, he nuzzled his cheek against hers before kissing a path along it until he reached her ear. “You want me to see if I can find somewhere that’s still open and get you some chocolate?”

Her hands stroked his back, her eyes filling with tears at his offer. Damn hormones! “You’d do that for me?”

“Of course I would,” he stated. Lowering his head, he captured her lips in an achingly tender kiss, swallowing her moans when he slipped his tongue between them to tangle playfully with hers.

Her craving for chocolate was suddenly overtaken by a craving for something entirely different and pushing herself up onto her tiptoes, she kissed him harder, telling him without words what she was needing now.

Bunching up the T-shirt she was wearing that had at one time belonged to him, one of his hands splayed in the centre of her back holding her to him while the other gently caressed her bump, loving how soft her skin felt.

“Nathan…” she panted breathlessly, her fingers buried in his thick hair, pulling him down for another kiss.

“So, do you, uh, want me to go out and get something… ‘cause I might have an idea on how we can curb that craving…” Nathan managed to choke out before finding her lips again.

“Oh, you’re not going anywhere, Mister… except back to bed,” she teased.

“Good!” He kissed the tip of her nose before saying, “Do you want to hear my idea?”

“Uh huh,” Haley mumbled, her fingers delving beneath his pants to wrap around his hardened length.

“God, Hales… You—you’ve gotta stop!” He could feel himself already teetering close to the edge just from their hot, hungry kisses and he definitely didn’t want things to be over before they’d had a chance to really get started. Reluctantly removing her hand, he interlaced their fingers as he led her the short distance to the fridge but instead of opening it, he opened the cupboard above it and reached in to grab a particular bottle he’d placed there a few days ago.

“What are you—”

“Will this do?” he interrupted, offering her the unopened bottle of chocolate syrup.

Leaning into him, she pressed a kiss onto his smirking lips. “Oh, this will do very nicely,” she told him, her own lips mirroring his smirk. Taking back his hand in her free one, she pulled him along behind her.

“In a hurry, are we?” he quipped, one hand reaching out to hit the light switch as they left the room.

“Hell yeah,” she whispered, throwing him a heated look over her shoulder as they climbed the stairs.

Nathan shook his head and smiled as he followed her up. He could only hope that all of her future late night cravings would be this easy to deal with.
