Chapter Five
Entering his bedroom, Nathan dropped Haley onto his bed making her bounce which in turn made him laugh. “Hey! Watch it buddy.” Grabbing his arm, she pulled him down beside her and for a moment they were content to just look into each other’s eyes.
“Are you sure you, uh, want to be in here so soon?”
“Yes, I’m sure,” she replied while nodding her head. “Look Nathan, we’re both adults and it’s not like we’re strangers or anything.”
“I know that but we don’t really know each other, do we? Not in a personal sense anyway.”
“Okay, I’ll give you that. So, let’s get to know each other now. I’m not in a rush to go home and unless you have somewhere else to be...”
“No, I don’t. There’s nowhere I’d rather be,” he told her honestly.
Haley smiled shyly at his words. “Well, then let’s get comfy and ask each other questions. I’ll even let you go first.”
They both lay down on the bed facing each other and let their questioning begin.
“Okay...um...how many brothers and sisters do you have?” He asked, voicing the first question that had popped into his head.
“A nice easy one to get us started. I’m the youngest of six; I’ve got three brothers and two sisters.”
“Wow!”
“I know. I get that a lot when I tell people. So, how about you?”
“I’ve got a half-brother who’s three months older than me.”
“Now it’s my turn to say wow. How’d that happen if you don’t mind me asking?”
Grinning at her question, he replied, “Basically, my dad got Luke’s mom pregnant in their senior year of high school and then got my mom pregnant in their first semester at college. There’s a whole lot of complicated crap that goes along with the story but we can save that for another time, especially since some of it’s pretty depressing and I don’t want to ruin our night.”
“Okay, fair enough. What’s your next question?”
“Hmm, let’s go for something a little more…juicy. How old were you when you had your first kiss and who was it with?”
She laughed at the question and smiled as she recalled the circumstances of it. “Well, my very first kiss happened when I was about seven and took place during a game of mommies and daddies. It was with my friend Tommy who lived next door. But my first real kiss happened when I was about fifteen with a guy called Jack Mitchell. I had this really big crush on him and we kissed at a friend’s party.”
“Did you guys date or...?”
“Is that another question because I think it’s my turn now,” she teased.
“Ooh, avoiding answering it, are we?”
“No!” She playfully poked her tongue out at him. “For your information, we dated for about a week before he decided he’d rather hang out with his guy friends than have a girlfriend.”
“What an idiot,” Nathan muttered under his breath, although he knew she’d heard him by the way her face flushed.
“So, tell me about your first kiss, Mr Scott.”
Smirking at her, he said, “It was with a girl called Debbie Matthews when I was about thirteen.”
“An early starter, huh?”
“Yep. Like with your first kiss, it happened at a party during a game of Spin The Bottle.”
“Did you two date?” she asked, repeating his earlier question to her.
“Nope. It was purely for the purposes of the game.”
“Kiss any other girls during that game?”
“Maybe, maybe not.”
Haley laughed. “Now, why do I get the feeling you probably kissed a lot of girls during that one game?”
“It might have something to do with my boyish good looks,” he teased. “So, I have another question for you.”
“Okay, shoot.” As her eyes locked on his, she felt herself get lost in them and she had to give herself a little mental shake in order to focus on what he was saying.
“Are you, um, seeing anyone right now?” In the six months that she had been working for him, she hadn’t mentioned anyone but then again, they hadn’t really talked about anything personal and given that things were changing between them, he needed to know for sure.
Reaching out her hand, she trailed her fingers over his cheek. “No, I’m not. If I was I certainly wouldn’t be here with you in your bedroom.”
“I know that, Haley. I know you’re not that type of person but I…I just needed to know for sure that I wasn’t stepping on anyone’s toes.”
“Well, you’re not.” She smiled at him before closing the gap between them and pressing her lips against his softly.
Nathan moaned when he felt her tongue slip into his mouth and tentatively touch his own. Before long, he had rolled onto his back and had pulled her on top of him, his arms wrapping around her waist and holding her firmly against him.
Eventually breaking the kiss, they both fought to catch their breaths as they stayed locked in the same position. Their foreheads touched lightly as they continued to look into each other’s eyes.
“Do you know how many times I came close to asking you out?” he asked, his fingers slipping underneath her blouse to caress her warm, silky soft skin.
“Why didn’t you?” Her lips dropped light butterfly kisses onto his cheeks as she waited for his reply.
“You were always so professional at work that I didn’t want to offend you or anything.”
Raising herself up slightly, she replied, “Offend me? Nathan, I was dying for you to ask me out. I would have asked you but I didn’t know if you were involved with someone already and I also didn’t want to jeopardise our working relationship.”
“I suppose we should maybe make up for our previous stupid behaviour and have some fun, huh?”
She giggled. “Ooh, now you’re talking.”
Their eyes locked onto each other for a long moment before they slowly moved closer and shared a deep passionate kiss. Haley took control of the kiss, licking and sucking on his lips before she eased them apart using her tongue. She took her time making sure she didn’t leave any part of his mouth untouched.
Nathan’s hands, which were both resting just beneath her blouse, were now wandering all over her back and she felt him toy with the clasp of her bra.
A part of her knew they were moving fast, maybe too fast, and that once that line had been crossed, it would be near enough impossible to go back but in this precise moment she didn’t care. Nothing had ever felt as good as his large hands stroking up and down her back and she wanted more.
His lips were now firmly attached to her neck and she gasped when she felt his teeth rasping against her skin. Tilting her head to one side, she gave him greater access and while he worked on marking her neck, she slipped her hand beneath his shirt and caressed his toned stomach.
A voice inside her head was telling her to go slow…to be careful but she didn’t want to do that. She was a twenty-five year old woman, not a child, and it wasn’t as if she’d never had sex before. Although she had a feeling that Nathan would surpass both of her previous lovers and then some if his kisses and touches alone were anything to go by.
“Haley…m-maybe we should slow things down.”
Nathan’s voice broke into her thoughts and she felt like a bucket of cold water had just been thrown on her. She made to move off of him but his arms held her tighter, keeping her just where she was.
“Is that what you want?” she asked, preparing herself for his answer.
“No,” he replied without any hesitation. “I want more but--”
“I do, too.” Her mouth covered his and she kissed him hard, pouring all the pent up frustration and attraction into it. She could feel his erection pressing against her and she began moving her body against it and she smiled against his lips when he groaned into her mouth.
“You’re killing me,” Nathan choked out as he pressed his palms against her ass and held her even more tightly against him, loving the feel of her curvy body grinding on top of him.
“Well, we don’t want that,” she teased before her lips moved down his throat and she suckled on his Adam’s apple.
“Are you sure about this?” he asked wanting to be absolutely sure they were on the same page.
Haley nodded. “Yeah, I am. I, uh, just need to know one thing though.”
Bringing a hand up to her face, he said, “What’s that?”
“Is this gonna be a, um, one night stand?”
His mouth dropped open in shock but he quickly pulled himself together and responded to her question. “What?! No, no, it’s not. I meant what I said before about being attracted to you since the first day I met you and now, after having kissed you, it’s way more than just an attraction. I want more and I…I’m hoping you do as well.”
“I do… I so do,” she said laughing happily. “I just needed--”
“To make sure? I understand. I know this will change things between us, Haley, but I think we’re grown up enough to be able to separate business from pleasure.”
“I know,” she said before stealing a quick kiss from him.
“Right now though, I’m more interested in the pleasure than the business,” he quipped which caused her to blush.
“Nathan!”
“Sorry.”
“I’ll bet. So, uh, you want to keep going or…”
“Yeah, if you’re happy to keep going, then I am too. More than happy.”
Instead of answering him verbally, she kissed him again, the palm of one hand holding his head steady while her lips devoured his. She didn’t know what it was but she seriously couldn’t stop kissing him and she had a feeling that would always be the case.
Rolling them over so that he was now on top, Nathan kissed her hard and while he kissed her, his hands moved between them and began to unbutton her blouse and once the garment was unbuttoned, he moved it out of his way so his hands could continue their exploration of her skin.
Seeing her lying before him in a pretty pink lace bra rendered his mouth completely dry and he couldn’t stop staring at her. “You’re so beautiful,” he whispered before lowering his head and kissing the top of each breast. He then dropped tiny kisses all over her collarbone and neck before moving back up to kiss her lips again.
Haley’s fingers buried themselves in his hair as she held him tightly against her. His hot, sucking mouth was driving her wild and moving her arms to wrap around his neck, she shifted her body underneath his and managed to hook her legs over his hips. Her mouth formed a perfect ‘o’ as she felt his hardness press directly against her centre and a series of gasps and mewls tore from her throat as she gave herself over to the sensations he was creating within her.

“Can I…uh…” Nathan couldn’t believe how anxious he felt. Here he was a grown man of twenty-seven feeling nervous about removing a woman’s bra. What the hell was wrong with him? It wasn’t as if this was his first time but deep down inside, he knew the reason for his nervousness. A lot was at stake and the last thing he ever wanted to do was hurt Haley, however unintentional.
The quiet ‘Yes’ she gave him in reply sounded as nervous as he himself was feeling in that moment and in a weird way, he started to feel better and relax a bit more.
Helping her sit up, his arm slid around her back and he popped the clasp with one hand and together, they slowly removed it from her body. Cupping the back of her head gently, he kissed her passionately as he eased her back down so she was lying on her back with him on top.
Breaking the kiss and raising himself up slightly on his forearms, Nathan couldn’t help but stare as the object of his desire laid beneath him topless. He had always thought Haley was beautiful but now...words failed him. The soft lighting in his bedroom seemed to make her appear almost angelic. She was slender, tiny even, but so perfectly formed with the most gorgeous curves in all the right places. He knew in that precise moment that he could fall hard for this woman and, if he was being totally honest with himself, he already had.
“Nathan? Are you okay?” Haley asked him, concerned that he wasn’t answering and was just continuing to stare at her. She was starting to feel a little self-conscious and she knew she was most likely blushing yet again.
“I-I’m sorry, Haley. I don’t know what it is about you but I just can’t seem to stop staring. You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met and I guess I’m still finding it hard to believe that you’re feeling the same way about me as I am about you.”
“Well, I do.” Placing her hand on the back of his neck, she pressed down and brought his mouth to hers and she licked a path around his lips before suckling on the bottom one and then nibbling it with her teeth. “Can I tell you a secret?”
“Of course you can. What is it?”
She smiled shyly before saying, “I wanted you from the first moment I set eyes on you at the interview, but I guess it’s not too professional to jump on your potential boss at your interview, huh?”
Nathan couldn’t stop the smile that spread across his face at hearing Haley’s words. “Oh, I don’t know. I’m pretty sure it would have made the interview a bit more exciting.”
“Oh, well I’ll keep that in mind for any future interviews I may have.”
“Uh huh! No way! You’re not going anyway, Ms James.”
“Fine by me, Mr Scott,” she said before kissing him again.
Breaking the kiss for a moment, he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, then her nose and finally returned to her lips where he then nibbled on them before pulling her lower lip between his lips and sucking on it. He then proceeded to kiss her chin and slowly kissed a path down her throat to her neck, sucking furiously on the soft skin. After a while he moved lower and kissed her shoulder, then her collarbone and kept moving down until he reached her breasts. “Sorry to interrupt you there but I just realised something.”
“Uh...what’s that?” he asked, confused as to why she had stopped him.
“I just realised you’re wearing far too many clothes and I’m feeling kind of underdressed here,” she replied giggling.
“Well, that’s fixable,” he told her, moving so he was now kneeling on the bed. Copying his movement so she was kneeling in front of him, she proceeded to help undress him as fast as she could. Clothes flew through the air and landed scattered on the bedroom floor and once he was naked, Nathan quickly removed Haley’s skirt so she was nude save for the pale pink panties that matched her bra.
He hesitated for a second knowing that once the garment was removed things would change between them forever.
Seeing his beautiful body in all its naked glory seemed to give Haley’s confidence a boost and she let her hands roam all over his chest, shoulders and back, loving the strong muscles beneath his warm, tanned skin.
Understanding his hesitance, she brought her body in close to his as was possible and whispered into his ear. “Take it off. I want you to and I know you want to...”
Nodding slowly, he peeled the item off her body and gently laid her back down on the bed and once again he laid on top of her, covering her body with his. Haley gave him a slow smile and taking that as a very good sign, Nathan continued to crawl back up her body until his face was above hers and he kissed her, letting her taste herself on his lips. “Hey, you’ll be screaming soon enough.”
“Is that a fact?”
“Uh huh.” Nathan smirked and reaching for one of the condoms, he made quick work of unwrapping it and rolling it onto his erection.
Once he was completely sheathed in the latex, she pulled him closer to her and he settled comfortably between her legs, his cock nudging at her entrance again. The heat of their kiss seemed to escalate and he slowly moved forward entering her inch by inch, making them both moan in pleasure.

Reluctantly, Haley released him from her embrace and as soon as he had disposed of the condom, he was back in her arms. Rolling them over so that he was laying on his back with her on top of him, he managed to pull the covers up over them both. Wrapping his arms tightly around her, she snuggled further into his chest and Nathan could tell she was about to fall asleep. He bent his head and placed a soft kiss on her lips and then the top of her head before he settled back and slowly started to drift off too, a gentle smile still plastered to his face.
