Distractions - Chapter Two

Chapter Two

Nathan could feel what little control he had slipping away fast. He tried to take a few deep breaths which wasn’t easy to do when your girlfriend’s tongue was practically tickling your tonsils. The fingers of one hand were gripping on tightly to the belt loops of her jeans while his other hand was spanning across her lower back, having bunched her T-shirt up so he could touch her silky soft skin.

The air in the car was stifling but he wasn’t about to pause the action to crack open a window. If he was going to pass out from lack of oxygen, what a way to go! He moaned into her mouth when she ground against him and his hold on her tightened that little bit more.

“H-Hales… We need to…god…slow things down a bit,” he managed to choke out several minutes later when he felt himself getting closer and closer to the edge. “Please!”

Drawing back from him slightly, Haley looked down at him from her position on top of him. Her thighs were on either side of him, squeezing into his sides and her fingers were playing with the hair at the nape of his neck. “I don’t want to,” she told him, her breathing ragged as she slowly calmed down.

“I don’t want to either,” Nathan admitted quietly, “but we have to. I don’t want to…push you into something you’re not ready for and—”

“You’re not!” she quickly interrupted. “I’m making out with you because I want to… God, I really want to.” Her voice was a little quieter as she said that last part. When he smirked at her, Haley swatted his shoulder. “Hey!”

“What?” He couldn’t help chuckling at her.

“The car’s already stifling enough without your big head taking up the last of the air in here,” she teased. “Want me to open a window?”

“Since it involves you moving off of me, I’m going to say no. ‘Sides, I like seeing you all hot and sweaty,” he told her, the smirk only getting bigger.

Haley blushed and buried her face against his shoulder.

Threading his fingers through her thick, auburn hair, Nathan eased her away from him so he could see her face and he moved his hand so he could gently brush the back of it against her cheek. “I love it when you blush.”

“You’re making it worse,” she said, using her hand to fan herself.

“You could always kiss me again and take your mind off of the blushing thing,” he suggested.

“I thought you wanted to stop,” she said, cocking her head to one side and sucking her bottom lip into her mouth.

“I didn’t say that,” he was quick to point out. “I said we needed to slow things down but if you’re happy to keep going…”

“I am.”

“Then I am, too.” He smiled at her warmly and watched as her beautiful face began moving closer to his and letting his eyes fall shut, he sighed when he felt her soft, plump lips touch his once again. Parting them, he allowed her tongue instant access into his mouth, loving the feel of it as it curled around his own.

The feel of her blunt fingernails scratching along his scalp and down the back of his neck made his body tremble and his hands held onto her tightly, one hand slipping south and kneading her ass through her jeans and pulling her closer still as the kiss became even more intense.

A deep growl tore from his throat when he felt her lower body grind against him and he felt her body still against his for a few seconds before she did it again. “Haley?” he asked after breaking the kiss and easing her away from him so he could look into her eyes.

“Did you like that?” Haley asked, the uncertainty clearly audible in her voice.

“Fuck, yes!”

She giggled at his choice of words. “That much, huh?”

“Are we moving too fast?”

“If I was anyone else you wouldn’t be asking that,” she told him, her voice wavering as a jolt of jealousy shot through her.

“I don’t care about anyone else; I care about you, Hales. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable or make you feel that you have to do things you’re not ready for,” he told her sincerely. “I care about you too much to ever do that.”

Nathan’s words seemed to soothe her and inching closer to him, she nuzzled her nose against his before finding his lips and kissing him softly. “Thank you,” she whispered against his mouth a moment later.

“What for?”

“For making me feel better. I know this is weird for you… You know, taking things slowly.”

Shaking his head, he told her, “It’s not weird…it’s actually kinda nice. I’m not saying it’s not hard—”

Haley burst out laughing and he startled for a moment before joining in with her.

“Okay, bad choice of words. You know what I mean,” he said, tickling her ribs which wasn’t the best idea right then as she started wriggling on top of him, making matters even more…difficult.

“Sorry,” Haley mumbled when she’d managed to catch her breath.

“I was so right about you being the bad influence on me,” he said, leaning his head back.

“Is that so?”

“Uh huh.”

“Well, maybe we should stop this and you can drop me off at home. I mean, I wouldn’t want to get you into any trouble.”

She bit her lip to stop herself laughing again when, quick as a flash, he raised his head to look at her.

“What!?”

Seeing the look on his face, she couldn’t hold back the laughter this time. “Ah, I see that got your attention.”

“And you say I’m the terrible one.” Cupping her face between his palms, he brought her down to him and seized her lips. He took charge this time, sliding his tongue between her lips to tangle wetly with hers, exploring every single inch of her mouth and mentally cataloguing every little moan and gasp she made.

Haley held onto his shoulders to try and keep her balance as Nathan’s kisses left her feeling dizzy and light-headed. When he began trailing kisses down the column of her throat and then started sucking at the base of her neck, she tipped her head back and to the side to give him greater access; her fingers bunching the fabric of his shirt as she tried to maintain her own control. God only knew how much stronger the sensations would be when she finally felt ready to take things even further with him.

After several long moments had passed, she brought her lips close to his ear and whispered, “Take me home, Nathan.”

Those four words felt like a bucket of ice cold water over him and he reluctantly withdrew from her. “Oh, I…uh…thought this was okay.”

“It is okay, more than okay. I just thought it’d be more comfortable to do this, um, up in my room,” she answered shyly.

“Ohhh!” His smile threatened to take over his whole face and giving her another long, lingering kiss, he gently eased her off of his lap. He watched with great interest as she carefully maneuvered herself back into the front seat of his car and as he followed suit, he was once again grateful that the car had tinted windows, although the rocking motion of the car probably gave away what its occupants were up to. It was a good job then that he’d parked in a pretty secluded and shaded area of the school’s parking lot that day.

When they’d left the Tutoring Center a good long while ago, he’d never thought that Haley wouldn’t be able to wait for them to find somewhere private to hang out. She’d snatched his car keys from his hand and after unlocking it, she’d practically dragged him into the backseat before he’d known what was happening.

“I take it your parents aren’t home.”

“Hmm, what gave it away?” Haley teased.

Leaning over the console, he ignored her question as he kissed her instead.

Relaxing back in her seat, Haley watched as Nathan started the engine and after putting the car in gear and moving off, she took his right hand in both of hers and played with his fingers. Smiling to herself, she could only hope that they wouldn’t hit too many red lights on the way home.
