Discretion - Chapter One

Chapter One

“Wow!”

“Good, huh?”

“Good doesn’t even come close to describing that,” Haley Scott told her companion as she shifted onto her side and trailed her fingers over his bare chest. Inching closer to him, she kissed his jaw before her lips found his and she flicked her tongue over the inside of his bottom lip. She squealed when he flipped her over onto her back and kissed her fiercely, sliding her hands up to wrap around his neck and hooking her legs around his hips.

Her breath hitched in her throat when she felt him thrust inside her and she released a loud moan when he began moving in and out of her. The pace started off slow and leisurely but soon picked up speed, becoming frantic in its urgency. The room was filled with a combination of moans and sighs coupled with the sound of their bodies moving in unison.

Feeling his thumb circling and then rubbing her clitoris, Haley arched up off the bed as the pleasure became almost too much for her to bear. Her teeth sunk into her bottom lip as she fought to stave off her imminent climax, wanting to prolong this blissful feeling for as long as possible.

She cupped the back of his head and forced his mouth onto hers, kissing him hotly as he repeatedly entered and withdrew from her body. This felt amazing…almost to the point where it outweighed the guilt of what it was she was doing. Pushing those thoughts to the back of her mind for the moment, she stroked her fingers over the back of his neck and then further down, her nails digging into the taut skin of his shoulders as she felt her orgasm suddenly hit. Her toes straightened as her heels dug into his ass, silently begging him to move faster which he did.

Her second climax was just as powerful as the previous one and lifting her head up from the pillow it was resting on, she bit his shoulder, earning her a low growl in response. His name fell from her lips in a mantra as she continued to rock against him, urging him on to his own orgasm. When he came just a few strokes later, it sent her over the edge yet again and they lay there in silence for several long moments, the sweat on their bodies cooling as their harsh breathing returned to normal.

Haley’s fingers traced idle shapes and patterns on his back, the earlier guilty thoughts returning to the forefront of her mind. She gave him a crooked smile when he pushed himself up onto his forearms and looked down at her and, from the expression he wore upon his face, she knew he could tell what she was thinking.

“I guess it’s that time, huh?”

“Yeah, I’m sor--”

His forefinger covered her lips. “Don’t. There’s nothing to apologise for so…just don’t.”

“I just feel…guilty, I guess. I’m here with you when I should be at home. When I need to be at home.”

“Do you want to call this off? I’ll understand if you do,” he told her.

Quickly shaking her head, she replied, “No, I don’t want that. I know I’m being selfish--”

We’re being selfish, you mean.”

“Okay, we’re being selfish but I love being with you.”

“I love being with you, too, Haley.” Lowering his head, he pressed his lips to hers and kissed her softly, breaking the kiss before it could get too intense. He moved his body and heard the quiet hiss she released as he pulled out of her. Getting up from the bed, he grabbed his boxers from the floor and pulled them on and when he turned to face her, he saw she had covered herself up with the thin bed sheet.

“You’d better go first.” Glancing over at the clock on the nightstand, she added, “I’ve got time to grab a shower before I need to…” She let her words trail off, not wanting to remind either of them of their normal day-to-day lives just yet.

“Yeah.” He made quick work of getting dressed and when he was ready, he sat down on the edge of the bed beside her. “Are we still on for next week?”

“Of course, unless you’ve changed your mind.”

“I haven’t,” he was quick to tell her. “Same time, same place.”

“Yes. I’ll call you if there’s a problem.”

“Okay, the same goes for me.” Leaning forward, he kissed her again, savouring the taste and feel of her.

Haley watched him leave and her heart felt heavy in her chest, more so when she heard the door click shut. It always did at this point. It was in stark contrast to the unbelievable excitement she felt in those first few minutes when he would walk into the room they had booked.

Throwing the sheet aside, she climbed out of bed and picked up her scattered clothing from the floor, placing it on the nearby chair before heading into the adjacent bathroom and turning on the shower. While she waited for the water to heat up, she used the facilities and brushed her teeth using one of the complimentary toothbrushes. Stepping under the spray of the water, she reluctantly washed his scent from her body, remembering as she did so exactly how good he always smelled. Pushing those thoughts to the back of her mind, she finished up in the shower and made fast work of getting dried and then dressed.

Haley was almost out of the hotel room when her cell phone rang and seeing a familiar name flash up on its screen, she took a deep breath before answering the call. “Hi, honey… I was just about to go and pick them up now… Oh, okay. No, that’d be great… I’ll see you soon. I love you, too.”

She took another deep breath once the call was over and glancing around the room, she made sure she had everything and then left the room. After checking out, she walked outside and the late afternoon sunshine was strong, causing her eyes to squint slightly. Digging into her purse, she pulled out her sunglasses as she walked to her car which she had purposely parked a block away from the hotel just in case anyone she knew saw it parked there. Once inside the car, she sat there for a few moments getting her thoughts under control before she started the ignition and then began her journey home.

“Mommy! Mommy!”

Haley walked out of the kitchen and smiled as her four-year-old daughter ran towards her closely followed by her two-year-old son. “Hey, baby,” she said, bending down to hug the little girl. “Did you have fun at Auntie Peyton’s?”

“Uh huh. We did finger painting,” Mia replied.

“Wow, finger painting, huh?”

“You should see the state of Luke.”

Looking across the room, Haley’s eyes met her husband’s as he entered the room carrying their six-month-old daughter in his arms and she smiled warmly at him. “Why, what’s wrong with Luke?”

“Apparently, Peyton let the little munchkins paint him when he fell asleep in the chair,” he said chuckling.

She joined in with his laughter as an image of her best friend and brother-in-law covered in brightly coloured paint popped into her head. “I hope Peyton took pictures.”

“Oh, she did. She said to tell you she’ll e-mail you some before he’s able to delete them from the camera.”

“I’ll look forward to seeing them,” she told him as she scooped her son up in her arms. “How’s mommy’s little boy?”

“Big boy, Mama,” Jamie corrected her as he wrapped his arms around his mother’s neck.

“Aww, I’m sorry, sweetie.” Peppering his chubby cheeks with kisses, she smiled against his baby soft skin when he giggled. Haley walked over to where Nathan was standing and she automatically pushed herself up just as he leaned down and they shared a soft kiss. “Hey, baby.”

“Hey back,” Nathan Scott replied before closing the short gap between them and kissing her again. He watched as his wife leaned down and pressed a kiss to Emma’s, their youngest child’s, forehead.

“Thanks for picking the kids up.”

“No problem. My last appointment got cancelled so I figured I’d save you the trip,” he explained. “How was your day?”

“Uh, it was good. I, uh, finished work a little early and was at the grocery store when you called, picking up a few things for dinner before I went over to Peyton’s.”

Nathan nodded. “Well, I’m glad I saved you the journey. Here, can you take little’un here for a minute while I run upstairs and get changed.”

“Sure.” Carefully taking her daughter from him, she smiled down at the baby as she rocked her in her arms.

“Do you know how sexy you look when you’re holding our kids?”

“Nuh huh, Mister.”

“What?” Nathan said, a smirk upon his face. He knew exactly what she was referring to.

“Somehow every time you come out with that line, I end up pregnant again. It’s not happening again… At least not for a good while.”

“We’ll see,” he said, kissing her mouth quickly before taking the stairs two at a time.

“Yeah, we will.” Looking down at her daughter in her arms and then at her elder children who had switched the TV on and were sitting side by side on the couch watching cartoons, she felt a warmth spread throughout her body.

What had taken place earlier that afternoon in that hotel room was forgotten, for now at least.
