Summary: She was brought out of her reverie by a pair of hands suddenly grabbing her legs and pulling her into the water.

Haley sat on the side of the pool, her legs gliding back and forth in the water as her eyes intently watched Nathan swimming lengths at the deeper end. She breathed a sigh of relief as she felt the last of the weight on her shoulders suddenly being lifted. It was so good to see him getting back to some semblance of normality after what had happened not even six months ago.
Seeing him look so broken and so…so bereft sitting in a wheelchair, staring into space… God, it had broken her heart and she’d lost count of the number of nights she’d cried herself to sleep worrying about him and what was going to happen in both the short and long term. Their bed had felt so empty and she’d felt so alone without him lying there beside her, his strong arms wrapped around her, holding her close. It was—
She was brought out of her reverie by a pair of hands suddenly grabbing her legs and pulling her into the water.
“Nathan!” she exclaimed just before she went under. Coming back up a moment later, she pushed her now wet hair out of her eyes and tried to scowl at him but instead, she couldn’t help but smile.
“What?” Nathan asked, trying to sound innocent but failing. He returned her smile, letting his gaze roam all over her and taking in her new short hairstyle and its rich, chestnut colour which reminded him of when they’d first gotten together. His eyes fell lower, admiring the view of her in the purple and black bikini top she was wearing. Damn, his wife was hot!
“You’re staring,” Haley pointed out as she felt her face grow warm.
“Have you got a problem with that?” His arms snaked around her waist, pulling her in close to his body. Lowering his head, he instantly found her lips and kissed her ever-so-slowly. When he eventually drew back, Haley followed him. Her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling his head down further so she could kiss him more easily.
Sliding his hands under the water, he boosted her up and smiled against her mouth when he felt her legs wrap around his hips, holding her tightly as he eased through the water until they were at the pool’s steps. He placed her down so she was standing in front of him, her chest level with his mouth and without saying a word, he reached behind her and released the ties of her bikini top, tossing the wet fabric onto the concrete.
“Nathan, I—”
“We’re all alone,” he assured her. “Jamie’s with my mom and there’s no way anyone can see over all these trees.”
Haley cocked her head to the side and teased, “Is that why you wanted to buy this place so much?”
“Damn, my secret’s out.” Reaching out his hand, Nathan cupped her bare breast, his thumb flicking over her erect nipple. He watched her eyes flutter shut and her head fall back as she let herself enjoy what he was doing to her. “Do you like that?” he asked huskily.
“Uh huh,” she choked out before releasing a deep moan when she felt the hot cavern of his mouth surround her aroused flesh. “I love you,” he whispered into her ear as his arms wrapped around her, pulling her into a hug.
“I love you, too, Nathan.” Her hands stroked and caressed all over his warm, sun-kissed skin, loving the feel of him surrounding her. Sliding a hand between them, she slipped it past the elastic waistband of the board shorts he was wearing and she giggled as he gasped against her skin when her fingers wrapped around his erection.
“You complaining?” she joked just as she began to move her hand up and down.
He couldn’t speak so he simply shook his head as he thrust his hips forward and urged her to move faster which, to his relief, she did. There was something about the way she touched him that sent all of his senses haywire and his blood pressure skyrocketing. He couldn’t get enough of her.
Haley watched his face as she continued to touch him intimately, loving that she had this much power and control over him. “Y-You’ve gotta stop,” Nathan choked out a few moments later and he almost whimpered when she did as he requested and removed her hand from his shorts. He had to grin though when she suddenly yanked them down and then dove into the water, trying to swim away from him.
“I’ll get you for that, babe,” he told her as he pulled his shorts off completely and then swam after her.
Flipping over onto her back, she smirked at him. “You’ll have to catch me first, honey.”
Returning her smirk, he dove under the water and disappeared from view. Within seconds he’d reached her side and grabbed her hips as he resurfaced beside her.
She cried out with surprise as he swung her up into his arms and then propelled her through the air, landing with a large splash a moment later. “I’ll get you for that,” she sputtered, pushing her hair off of her face and tucking it behind her ears.
“Gotta catch me first, honey,” he said, throwing back the words she’d just spoken to him.
“Hmm, that shouldn’t be too hard,” Haley replied with a saucy smile. Hooking her thumbs into her bikini bottoms, she slowly removed them, throwing them onto the concrete to join her already discarded top. She bit her lip to stop herself from laughing when she saw the hot, lust-filled look he was giving her. Actually, it was more to stop herself from moaning than laughing, she realised, when her stomach suddenly flip-flopped.
As he approached her, she began walking backwards until her back hit the side of the pool and her heart was racing as she waited for him to finally arrive at where she was. She inwardly groaned when he stopped walking and threw her that sexy smirk of his again. She had two choices: she could either wait it out until he finally caved or she could give in and jump his bones. When it came to teasing her, Nathan had stamina… Hell, stamina could be his middle name when it came to sex, she thought to herself with a smile.

Taking a deep breath, Haley sucked it up, so to speak, and began moving towards Nathan. The hunger she was feeling was mirrored on his own face and she felt her body tingle all over. As soon as she was close enough to him, she placed her hands on his shoulders and jumped up, hooking her legs around his hips. She could feel him pressed hot and hard against her and she moaned against his mouth at the knowledge of what was about to happen.
Since he’d started working hard at his physical therapy, his mood had gotten so much better and he was back to being more playful than being sullen and depressed all of the time. Sure, he still had moments when he’d be feeling down which, she knew, was only to be expected but those were becoming less and less.

Bending his knees suddenly, he dunked them both before raising up just as quickly and ticking her sides. “C’mon, you know you love me.”
Twining her arms around his neck, she nuzzled her cheek against his. “Yeah, I do.”
They stayed in that position for what felt like forever before their faces inched closer together and they shared a long, lingering kiss which set them aflame once more.
Unceremoniously dropping her, he said, “Race you inside,” before taking off and leaving her standing. As before, she watched with a happy smile on her face as he glided easily through the water and she felt a sense of peace come over her.
“Hey, slowcoach, get your ass over here,” Nathan called out to her from the steps as he climbed out of the pool and wrapped his towel around his waist. The concrete was hot beneath his feet and he walked as quickly as he could given his condition over to the sun lounger where Haley had left her towel and he grabbed it for her, knowing she’d feel uncomfortable walking around on the patio without a stitch on.
She smiled up at him, thankful for his thoughtfulness, as he wrapped her towel around her and after securing it under her arms, she placed her hand in his and let him lead her into the house. “I’ll show you slowcoach,” she told him a minute later as she overtook him and ran up the stairs, the sound of him following close behind her like music to her ears.
