Nathan watched from the doorway as she began making their bed and he could tell from the soft smile on her face and the way she hugged his pillow that she was reminiscing about how it got so messy. The white cotton, fitted sheet was hanging off one side while the dark blue comforter had ended up on the floor at the bottom of the bed together with one of their pillows, his if he remembered correctly. A smirk tugged at his lips when she suddenly stretched forward to straighten the sheet and he was treated to a generous expanse of her tanned thighs as the grey T-shirt of his that she was wearing rode up. His palms burned with the need to touch her and just as he was about to step forward, her voice broke the silence.

"I know you're standing there staring."

"Is that why you suddenly leaned forward?" he asked as he entered the room.

Haley turned her head towards him and gave him a smirk of her own. "Maybe."

Placing one knee onto the bed, he smiled back at her and lowering his head, he captured her lips, kissing her soft and slow. Their breathing was harsh and heavy when they eventually drew back from one another and when he'd finally caught his breath, he asked, "Do you need a hand?"

"With making the bed?" She didn't know why she even voiced the question since she knew only too well that wasn't what he meant at all.

Instead of answering her verbally, he simply shook his head and wrapping his arms around her waist, he somehow maneuvered them so that she was lying flat on her back; her long, auburn hair spread out messily on the pillow with him lying on top of her, his weight braced on his forearms which were resting either side of her head. Before she could say a word, his mouth was sealed against hers and he was stealing her breath once more. The feel of her blunt fingernails running along his spine made him shiver with anticipation as did the sensation her talented fingers caused when they toyed with the elastic of his pajama pants before they delving beneath the fabric.

"H-Hales..."

"Uh huh..."

His mouth latched onto her neck, tasting the saltiness of her skin, a result of their earlier...activities, before again kissing upwards and seizing her mouth in another heat-filled kiss. When he felt her tongue licking at the seam of his lips, he immediately parted them and granted her access, gasping at her thorough exploration of his mouth. His hands roamed all over her and he made quick work of removing her T-shirt, sighing with satisfaction the moment he came into contact with her bare skin.

"We're going to be late for school," Haley said between kisses.

"So?"

"So, we've got to get ready."

"Oh, I'm ready," he told her, grinding his pajama-clad hips against hers which made her giggle in response.

"You're terrible, you know that."

"Tell me something I don't know," he quipped.

"C'mon, Nathan, we can't miss another day of school."

Raising himself up onto his forearms again so that he could look into her face, he sighed loudly. "Fine, but on one condition?"

"And what's that?" she asked, cocking one eyebrow.

"You mess up my bed with me later."

Pushing herself up on her elbows, Haley smiled as she pressed her lips against his. "Deal. Now, get your ass moving, Mister. The sooner we get going, the sooner we can get this day over and come back home." Wrapping her arms and legs around him, she rolled them over so she was now on top and before Nathan could do anything, she'd disentangled herself and was making a beeline for the bathroom. Popping her head around the door, she told him, "Oh, and since you interrupted me making the bed before, you can do it while I'm in the shower."

"What?" A frown creased his forehead. "I thought we could, you know, shower together. I mean, it'd save time and—"

"Nice try but no dice. If you get in this shower with me, I know we won't be leaving this apartment any time soon. So, get making that bed."

"Fine!" he mumbled to himself as he got out of bed and began piling the sheets and comforter in the center of it. A smile threatened to split his face in two though when he heard the shower running and making as little noise as possible, he crept towards the bathroom and slid the glass door open, grateful to see his wife's back was to him as he climbed inside.

"Nathan!"

The series of giggles that erupted from her was proof enough that she was more than a little happy that he'd ignored her demand.
