Chapter Five
Haley woke up well before her alarm was due to go off the next morning. Laying in bed propped up against her pillows, she couldn’t seem to stop smiling. Her skin was still tingling from last night and she couldn’t wait for Nathan to come over so they could pick up where they had left off. She couldn’t help wondering how far things might get today.
Finally, she got up out of bed and before taking her shower she gave her room a quick tidy up and as her room was fairly neat to start with, there wasn’t much to do.
About half an hour or so later she was downstairs having some breakfast while reading over her notes for the test she was taking on Tuesday. She was just rinsing her bowl in the sink when the doorbell rang and glancing at the clock she saw that it was only eight-thirty and so it was unlikely to be Nathan. That didn’t stop her heart from racing though at the thought that maybe he’d decided to come over early. Walking over to the front door, she opened it and smiled when she saw one of her best friends standing on the doorstep.
“Hey, Hales,” Peyton said, smiling at the brunette.
“Hey, come on in. What are you doing over here so early?”
Walking past her, she shrugged her shoulders. “I just thought I’d come over and keep you company since your parents are gone for the weekend.”
“Cool. You’re not hanging out with Brooke today?”
“It’s a bit too early for Brooke, you know that.” She said with a smirk. “I think we might go to the mall later, I need to pick up some paints. You want to come with?”
“Oh, uh, I can’t, Pey. I’ve got that test to take on Tuesday and I really need to study. That’s why I stayed home instead of going with my parents.”
Peyton’s curls bounced as she shook her head. “You’re nuts, you know that. Graduation is just over a week away and you’re studying for tests that you don’t need to take.”
“I know, I know. I’m sick, right? But I can’t help it.”
“Hey, it’s okay. I understand. I was only teasing.”
Haley poked her tongue out at her friend before going into the kitchen and pouring two glasses of orange juice. When she came back into the room, she handed one to Peyton and asked, “So are you all excited about starting college in New York?”
“Uh huh,” Peyton said after having a sip of her drink. “I can’t wait. I’m glad Brooke’s coming with me but I’m gonna miss you so much. We both are.”
“I know, I’m going to miss the pair of you, too. We’ll see each other though when we come back home for vacations.”
“I guess, but it’s going to be pretty weird not seeing you every day. Hey, why don’t we do something before we all leave? You know, like throw a party or, uh, go clubbing?”
Haley smiled at her friend. “That’s a great idea. Do you want to maybe get together tomorrow evening and start planning it?”
“Sure, I’ll tell Brooke when I see her later. We can meet at my place and work out the details.”
“Great. I should be done at the café by six so I can come by afterwards.”
“Okay.” Peyton took another drink of her juice before saying, “Anyway, I’m gonna go and let you get back to studying, brainiac. Are you doing anything tonight?”
“I’m not sure. Lucas is back this evening and I’m guessing he might drop by before his family dinner.”
“Oh, say hi to him from me. What about Nathan? Is he back tonight, too?”
Haley bit the inside of her cheek and said a silent prayer that she wouldn’t blush. “Uh, he actually came back yesterday. I dropped by the house and he told me that Luke decided to stay back in California for a couple more days. Something about a new girlfriend,” she said raising an eyebrow.
“Hmm, sounds like him.”
“That’s what I said,” she said with a chuckle. “So, I’ll see you tomorrow then and we can get to work planning our night out. Say hi to Tigger for me.”
“I will,” the blonde said getting up from her chair and walking towards the door. “Have fun studying.”
“Oh, don’t worry, I will.” This time she did blush and her friend looked at her curiously so she quickly added, “You know me, love those books.”
“Uh huh. See you later.”
“See you, Peyton.” After giving her a wave, Haley closed the door and leaned her back against it. She couldn’t help laughing at her the confused look on the blonde’s face.

Nathan was in his bedroom playing some NBA Live as a way of passing the time before going over to Haley’s. Without realising he was doing it, he kept glancing at his clock and couldn’t help frowning when he’d see that only a few minutes had passed since the last time he’d checked the time.
As soon as it got to ten-thirty, he was out of the door after saying a quick goodbye to his parents. Before he left, his mom reminded him he needed to be home by six to be there when Lucas and the others arrived for dinner.
As he drove the short distance, the closer he got to Haley’s house the more nervous he started to feel. The word nervous was never associated with Nathan Scott but this slip of a girl was suddenly knocking him on his ass and making him feel things he’d never felt before. Turning onto her street, he decided against parking right outside her house and parked a little further up.
Before getting out of the car, he took a deep breath and ran his hands through his hair as he gathered his thoughts. Finally, he opened his door and got out of the car locking it behind him. He tried to keep his pace steady as he walked to the house but found that his strides were lengthening and before he knew it, he was standing on her doorstep. His finger hovered over the doorbell before he forced himself to just ring it.

The chime of the doorbell had Haley freezing in her tracks and made her breath catch in her throat. To keep herself busy after she had given up on studying, she had made some sandwiches for the two of them and she had just finished cleaning up. Wiping her hands, she quickly went over to the mirror in her hallway and checked her reflection.
She was wearing her favourite denim skirt with a pale blue, spaghetti strap tank top and her wedge sandals. Her hair was hanging loose around her shoulders and, once again, her make up was light and natural. With a final deep breath, she walked over to the front door and opened it.
Nathan was staring at a small chip of paint at the bottom of the doorframe and when it opened, he slowly let his eyes travel up Haley’s body until he was looking into her face. He could feel his heart thumping wildly in his chest and he coughed to clear his throat. The last thing he wanted to do was scare her off by sounding all husky when he spoke.
“Hi, Nathan, come on in,” she said giving him a soft smile and opening the door wider so he could enter.
“Hey,” he said smiling back at her.
For a brief moment after she had closed the door, they stood there silently both trying to come up with something to say. In the end it was Haley who broke the silence.
“I made us some sandwiches... uh... you know, for later. I mean, I don’t know how long you’re able to stay but, um, I just thought...”
The smile on his face grew at her rambling and he released the laugh that had bubbled up in his throat. “I see you haven’t grown out of your babbling habit.” She blushed and looked down at her feet but her eyes were diverted back to his when he placed his thumb and forefinger on her chin and raised her face.
“I think it’s cute,” he told her. “And that’s a great idea about the sandwiches.”
“I just figured it would save time. Would you like something now, maybe a drink?”
“No, I’m fine. Why don’t we get a bit more practice in and then we can break in an hour or two and have something to eat?”
Haley nodded her agreement to his suggestion. “Okay. Do you mind if we went up to my room though? It’s just that my parents are due back this afternoon but it would be just our luck for them to arrive back early and catch us on the couch in a compromising position.”
“Sure, no problem. Lead the way.”
Hesitating for a split second, she finally started climbing the stairs and heard him following close behind. When she arrived at her bedroom door, the bed suddenly seemed to dominate the room and she could feel her body heating up. Taking a couple of deep cleansing breaths, she walked in and motioned for him to take a seat.
Nathan could feel the tension crackling in the air and he tried to mentally calm himself down. He knew that his nervousness was nothing compared to Haley’s and taking her hand in his he gave it a gentle squeeze before pulling her over to sit beside him on the bed. “How about we start with the kissing again and just see where it takes us?”
Her hands played with the hem of her skirt as she tried to control her breathing. The last thing she wanted to do was start hyperventilating and freak him out. “Yeah, I think that would be the best place to start.”
Kicking his shoes off, he maneuvered himself so he was lying on one side of her bed and he gestured for her to come and lay beside him. For a second, he really thought she was going to bolt from the room but instead, she calmly stood up and moved to do as he asked. They lay on their sides facing each other and slowly their faces inched closer together until their breaths were mingling. When she unconsciously licked her lips, he couldn’t take it anymore and he seized her mouth with his, kissing her slow and deep, his tongue gently exploring every crevice.
They spent several long minutes kissing and it wasn’t long before Haley started relaxing into it and she interlaced her fingers with his. Nathan’s kisses were leaving her dizzy and delirious and when the need for air became an issue, she broke the kiss and drew back from him slightly. Her chest was heaving and she felt her body tingle when she watched his eyes lower to her breasts which were rising and falling with each breath she took.
Nathan released his hand from hers and trailed his fingers up and down her arm. When he reached her shoulder, he slid one of the straps of her top down and leaning forward, he placed hot, open-mouthed kisses along the skin there, moving upwards until he reached the column of her throat.
Haley’s head fell back giving him more access and she felt him nip and suck the sensitive skin there. “That, uh, feels really good,” she whispered in a voice laced with desire. She couldn’t help moaning when she felt him roll her onto her back and opening her eyes, she saw him hovering over her.
“Is this okay?”
“Uh huh. Can we, um, add in touching?” she asked, now feeling more confident than she did less than ten minutes ago.
“Are you sure?” His blue eyes watched her brown ones carefully wanting to make certain that he wasn’t pushing her into anything.
“I’m positive. I’m ready to pick up where we ended last night. Do you remember where that was?” she asked with a teasing smile.
“You mean the whole wanting to see and touch me thing, right?” he teased back.
“Yep, I’m glad to see your memory’s in good working order.”
“That’s not the only thing.” He couldn’t help chuckling at the deep blush that had settled upon her cheeks at his choice of words. “So, shall I take my sweatshirt off?”
“Can I do it?” she asked shyly before adding, “I mean, do guys like it when girls undress them?”
“As far as I know they do. I know I like it.” He saw a frown pass her features but before he could ask her what was wrong it had gone and so he decided to leave it.
“Okay. So can I?”
“Definitely.”
Pushing herself up into a kneeling position, she asked Nathan to stand up in front of her to which he complied. Wiping her hands on the sides of her skirt, she grabbed the hem of his green and black sweatshirt and pushed it upwards before pulling it over his head and dropping it on the floor. Seeing his naked chest was making her mouth water and she desperately wanted to kiss it. She felt too nervous doing that just then so instead, she reached out and traced his nipple ring with her forefinger. Within seconds his nipple was puckered and erect, just begging for more attention. She repeated the same action with the other one and although she felt a little self-conscious doing it, she raised her eyes and locked them on his before leaning forward and doing the same using her tongue this time.
Nathan couldn’t believe what was happening and he felt like his knees were about to buckle under him. One of his hands came up and cupped her neck underneath her hair, holding her in place as she grew more bold and started sucking on the little nub before moving to lavish the other one with the same attention.
“Haley...” he moaned as her tongue continued to drive him wild. Pulling himself away from her, he quickly lowered his head and captured her lips with his. The kiss was fiery and loaded with passion. Their tongues dueled for dominance and it was unclear which could be announced the winner.
His free hand wrapped around her waist, drawing her even closer to his body and he knew she would be able to feel his arousal evident against her. He growled into her mouth when he felt her begin to rub herself against him and he was desperately wanting to feel more of her skin. The hand around her waist had already sneaked up under her top but he wanted more. Both of his hands grabbed the hem of her top and they broke the kiss so that he could pull the fabric over her head and he tossed it to the side where it landed beside his sweatshirt.
Haley’s hands were roaming all over Nathan’s chest and around his back and now that her top had been discarded, she wanted to remove that last barrier between their upper bodies. Without interrupting their kiss, her hands took his in hers and she moved them to the clasp at the back of her bra. He seemed to hesitate for a moment, his hands trailing back down to her waist but she refused to let that put her off. She moved his hands back to where she wanted them and placed them once again on the clasp.
Finally breaking the kiss, he looked at her and took in the kiss swollen lips and sparkling eyes and he melted. She was so gorgeous looking all mussed up like that and it was all because of him. “Haley, maybe we should...”
“No, Nathan, I don’t want to stop or slow down or whatever else you’re going to say. Last night you undid my bra so why not now? Have you, uh, changed your mind?” she said the last part quietly.
“What? No, no I haven’t. I’m just worried I’m pushing you and...”
“You’re not. If I didn’t feel comfortable at any stage I’d tell you. But if you’ve changed your mind about this, then I’ll understand. I know it’s weird but this is really helping me. At least I’ll have some experience under my belt before I get to college.”
“Yeah, I guess.” His stomach soured at the thought of anyone else touching her like this but he had to remember that this was just an experiment, one friend helping out another friend.
“Can we keep going or do you want to take a break?”
He thought about it for a moment before saying, “Let’s keep going. We should get as much done before your parents get back and before Lucas arrives home tonight. By the way, you’re invited to dinner.”
Haley smiled. “Yeah, I know. Your mom called me this morning and invited me.”
“Cool. We might as well go over there together when we’re done here.”
“Is that such a good idea? You know, after being together like this most of the day.”
“Why not? I’m not going to mark you and it’s not like anyone’s gonna be able to guess what we’ve been up to. Everyone knows we’re close friends, Hales.”
“I know but... Nevermind. You’re right. We can just say we were catching up on stuff.”
“Exactly. So, where were we?” He smirked and raised one of his eyebrows inquisitively.
Moving closer to him, Haley once again placed his hands on her bra clasp but this time she left them there as she twined her arms around his neck and pulled him down for a kiss. Nathan didn’t hesitate on this occasion and he made quick work of unsnapping the clasp and without him asking her, she dropped her arms so that he could slide the straps down them and remove the garment completely. As soon as it was off, her arms again wrapped themselves around his neck and she sighed into his mouth when she felt her bare breasts pressed flush against his naked chest for the first time. God, it felt amazing.
Nathan’s lips left Haley’s as he trailed kisses across her cheek to her ear and he whispered, “You feel so good.” Sliding a hand between them, he cupped and massaged one of her breasts as his other hand caressed up and down her side.
As gently as he could, he maneuvered them so that she was laying on her back with him half on top of her. His lips travelled from her ear down to her neck where he spent a little time sucking and licking over her skin before moving down to her shoulder and then her collarbone. He kissed all along the smooth, silky skin until he was at her other shoulder and he then moved back up so he could cover her lips once more.
Haley was amazed at how Nathan was making her feel just by pressing her into the mattress and dropping soft, sweet kisses all over her. Her skin was tingling and she knew she would never get enough of that sensation. When he once again broke the kiss, she felt him kiss over the areas he had already spent time on before moving a little lower to lavish attention on her breasts. One of her hands was playing with his hair while the other was stroking over his shoulders when she suddenly felt the wet warmth of his mouth surround one of her nipples. Her fingers gripped his shoulder and she moaned. “Oh... oh God... Nathan...”
He smiled around her breast as he continued suckling on the soft, sensitive skin. His tongue swirled around and around the hard little nubbin before bringing his hand up to cup her other breast. The incoherent moans Haley was making when he squeezed her nipple between his thumb and forefinger had his erection surging in his pants and he knew it wouldn’t take much for him to explode. After a few more moments, he switched to her other breast and as he did so, he let one of his hands wander down to stroke her bare thigh.
A little while later and after having switched back and forth a few times between her breasts, Nathan moved himself up so that his face was above Haley’s. “How are you feeling?” he asked, his breath coming in short pants as he fought to get his breathing under control.
“I feel wonderful. I-I didn’t think it would be like this, that I could feel like this. Thank you for showing me. It means so much that you would do this for me.” Pushing herself up on her elbows, she used her tongue to trace a path around his lips before kissing him. As their tongues intertwined, their teeth occasionally clacked together and when they pulled apart again, they once more gazed into each other’s eyes while letting their hands wander over one another.
When her hand brushed his throbbing erection, he released a deep moan and she quickly took her hand away thinking that she had hurt him. “Oh my God, I’m so sorry.”
“No, it’s not you, Haley. Well, uh, it sort of is you in that you’re the reason I’m like this,” he told her honestly. She couldn’t help blushing at his words and he cupped her cheek in his palm. “I’m gonna have to, um, take care of this so why don’t we take that break now?” He suggested. As he made to move off her, she grabbed his arm and stopped him.
“No, I don’t want to. My parents are back today as is Lucas and so it’s going to be more difficult meeting up and continuing this.”
“I know but I don’t think we should rush into doing more than you’re ready for just for that reason.”
Haley nodded. “I agree but I don’t feel like we’re rushing things. Maybe it’s just me but this feels so... natural.”
Leaning forward, he kissed her forehead and said, “It’s not just you. It feels natural to me, too.” They gazed at each other for a moment before he suggested, “Why don’t you go and get the lunch stuff ready while I just go and take care of my... um... problem and then I’ll come downstairs? We can then talk about what we should do next.”
Shaking her head, she said, “Actually, I’ve got a better idea. This experiment between us is so that I can learn stuff first hand, right? Well, why don’t I help you, uh, take care of that? You could show me... um... what to do and how you like to, uh, be touched...” Lowering her eyes and focusing on the pattern on her comforter, she added, “I mean, how guys in general like to be touched.”
Nathan opened and closed his mouth a few times as he tried to come up with something in response. Finally, he asked, “Are you sure about this? We’re crossing a line if we actually go ahead and do that and things will be very different between us.”
“Things are already different between us, Nathan, and you know what? I don’t care. I’ve always felt so insecure about myself compared to other girls at school and since we started this last night, I don’t. You make me... you make me feel so beautiful.”
Once again he took her lips in a deeply intense kiss. “That’s because you are beautiful, Hales.” He told her after the kiss had ended. “I’m just scared I’m going to end up hurting you somehow.”
“You won’t.” Wrapping her arms around his neck, she pulled him back down on top of her and she could feel his hardened length pressing into her thigh. Releasing one of her hands from around his neck, she let it slide in between them and she gently touched him, making him hiss with pleasure. “Show me what to do,” she breathed against his lips.
