WHAT a BUSY WEEK!

It's been another busy week! In math we are learning about 3 dimensional shapes.  We are focusing on cones, cubes, cylinders and spheres. We counted the number of edges, sides and verticies on each shape. In literacy, we learned about digraphs - two letters that make one sound. We focused on ch, sh and th words, such as chin, shop and thumb. This is a difficult concept for students.  We are also learning about nouns (people, places and things) and verbs (action words).  In science, we learned some interesting facts about big cats ~ not the kind you'd have at home as a pet!  Did you know that tigers have the largest brain out of all the big cat species and are the largest of all cat species?  A tiger's brain is 25% larger than a lion's brain and they can reach up to 11 feet tall and weigh as much as 650 pounds!  Stay tuned for more fun facts about animals as we prepare for our trip to the zoo!  

Play It Safe

Be on the lookout for an email from the district about Play it Safe. The email contains detailed information about the Play it Safe program. In order for your child to view the presentation, you must follow the instructions in the district email. The email asks you to OPT IN or OPT OUT of Play it Safe. The email also references a Play it Safe preview, which was hosted live on January 14th but is now available for you to watch at any time HERE. Glenhope students who have opted in will view the presentation during Specials time on March 28th.
