To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the first graders will be participating in a grade level story and craft program on Friday, October 25th from 12:00-1:00 pm. The students will be able to weave their own miniature tapestry after listening to the story. We would appreciate having 4 volunteers per class to help assist the kids with this activity. Please email your child's teacher if you would like to volunteer! It will be first come first serve based on when we receive emails. Thank you so much!Ā
Turkey Protection Squad
Today first graders brought home one of our favorite projects. We are helping the turkeys stay safe leading up to Thanksgiving. We read the book Turkey Trouble . In this book, the turkey uses creativity to go undercover and avoid the farmer who is looking for a Thanksgiving meal. Students will use the same creative ideas and materials at home to "disguise" their turkeys. At school they will write about their turkeys and display the writing along with the turkeys in the hall. It makes for a fun and engaging gallery walk closer to Thanksgiving.Ā The note below is attached to the turkey with the due date for additional reference.
