We had an incredible week with your student!
Students have been working in Canvas and seem to be improving in their navigation skills and in terms of checking and submitting assignments.
We suggest you do the pairing feature in Canvas, which allows you to "observe" your child's classes to see their daily lessons and assignments and allows you to see what they have or have not turned in. We have placed a link below that will show you how to become an "observer" in your child's Canvas account.

This Week : We began our new social studies unit on European exploration and settlement. We learned about the lives of important explorers, their motives, and other influences that settlement of the Americas had on what would become Texas. Students participated in a "mini-project" with their table groups about European explorers.
Next Week : We will cover explorers that were important to Texas and the American Southwest including Alonso Alvarez de Pineda, Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca, Francisco Vasquez de Coronado, Antonio de Espejo, Luis de Moscoso de Alvarado, Juan de Onate, and Rene Robert Cavelier. We will complete a chart to organize and better understand these explorers and their contributions to what is now Texas.
