We look forward to an awesome year!
Please send in headphones or earbuds that plug into your child's Chromebook. If possible please label them with your child's name. We will be using these in class regularly, and students need to have access to their own pair.
Please be sure to pack your child a healthy (nut free) snack every day. We do not go to lunch until 12:00, and students are getting hungry if they do not have a snack before then! We eat snack at 10:15 every day.
Students will use text evidence and background knowledge to learn to make inferences, or smart guess, about stories to support their understanding.
Students will use their experiences to begin writing personal narrative stories. Students will draft, edit, revise, and publish a story about an important event in their lives.
This week students worked on comparing numbers up to the hundred thousands place. Next week students will be ordering numbers from least to greatest and from greatest to least. Students will also be introduced to rounding, and will learn how to round numbers to the nearest 10 and 100.
Students will describe and classify matter and demonstrate that solids have a definite shape and that liquids and gases take the shape of their container.
Students will identify and compare how local communities and other communities meet their needs for government, education, communication, transportation, and recreation.
