Reminder: No School Monday! Enjoy the long weekend!!
We had another great week in 3rd grade! Students have been working hard in all of their classes. We have already seen them gain so much independence this year. Our character trait for this month is Responsibility. We have been talking with students about the responsibilities that they have at home and at school, and the importance of being responsible.
We have enjoyed meeting with you all and sharing all of the great things that your student has been doing this year! If you have not signed up for a conference and would like to, here is the link to sign up. If you have any questions about your child's progress this year, please feel free to reach out to their homeroom teacher.
Please help up by reminding students to charge their Chromebooks each night. It is very important that their Chromebooks come to school fully charged each morning. We use these for classwork daily as well as taking tests. When Chromebooks are not charged, it becomes a disruption to student learning for the day. We appreciate your help with this!
*We still need a few items for each class! Please sign up if you are able to send something in.
On Halloween, students will be going “math-or-treating” where they will solve math problems for “treats!” For this, we need 10 different small Halloween/fall related non-food items for each class. Target and Walmart have a lot of options out right now (spider rings, pencils, erasers, small fidgets, etc.)! If you would like to send something in for us to use for this activity, please click the sign up link for your child's homeroom class. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Ulrich. Thanks!
Please join the teachers and other students in dressing up these days in October!
What We're Learning!
Module 3 Let Freedom Ring

Students will be able to write an informative article that presents a central idea and uses text evidence as support.
This week we are continuing our Data Analysis unit! Students will learn about a new type of graph this week - dot plots! We will learn how to create a dot plot as well as how to interpret data from a dot plot and answer questions about the data.
Organisms and environments. 3.12A

3.7A Government
Students can learn about the services provided by the government. I can identify services and which level of government provides the service.
Repeated Information:
Please pack one NUT FREE snack for your child every day in their backpacks.
Please remind your students that toys must stay at home. Toys, stuffies, and trading cards are not allowed at school, unless otherwise specified by teachers.
We are excited to extend our learning through this fun pumpkin project. Students and families will decorate a small (pie size) pumpkin, or a fake pumpkin, using paint, fabric, wigs, or any craft supplies available, to look like a character from their favorite book. Please DO NOT carve or poke holes in the pumpkins because this causes them to start the decomposing process, encourages mold growth, and BUGS!! If pumpkins are carved when they arrive at school they will be returned the same day. Pumpkins are due with book report on OCTOBER 15th. They will be on display in the Learning Commons through October, and will be displayed during the Fall Festival this year! I am so excited for all the families to participate! Cannot wait to see all the magnificent creations!
If you chose to read a book, write a report, and then create a pumpkin character. Please send them by in Tuesday so we can display them in the learning commons.
