Module 8 Imagine! Invent!
We will be learning all about inventions and the brilliant minds that created them! We will evaluate how they have changed over time, and how they have altered the lives of humans!
We will continue practicing writing Extended/Short Constructed Responses using the CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning)
I can identify major and minor characters.
I can analyze how characters and setting affect the plot.
I can evaluate details to determine key ideas.
I can summarize text in ways that maintain meaning.
I can identify the claim in an argumentative text.
I can explain the author’s purpose in an argumentative text.
Next week we will continue working on a fraction project to end the unit.
We will also begin our next unit focusing on geometry and measurement. Students will work on finding the area of a rectangle.
Next Monday we will review and Tuesday will be a district TEKS Check covering information from the 3rd nine weeks of school.
**Studies Weekly: Weeks 14-19 Geography and Weeks 24-26 Economics

-3.5 ECONOMICS. The student understands the purposes of earning, spending, saving, and donating money.

Repeated Information:
Please check to make sure your child has head phones. We need each child to have a working pair for the up coming STAAR Test.
Please remember to pack one nut free snack for your child every day in their backpacks. We have snack at 10:00, as we do not go to lunch until 12:00 every day.
Teachers are allowed to have pre-packaged Veggie Straws or Skinny Pop (original flavors) on hand for students who may forget a snack. If you are able, and would like to sign up to provide any extra snacks to your homeroom teachers, we would be very appreciative.
