Grammar: Editing & Revising
Next Week: We begin our new unit on measurement! This week's focus will be on identifying relative sizes for customary and metric units and converting measurements.
Please try and work on multiplication facts at home. Having those memorized helps multiplying multi-digit numbers and division.
This Week : We extended our water cycle expertise to discuss the difference between weather and climate. We made a climate graph comparing the average monthly temperature and precipitation and discuss the importance of mapping weather patterns over time. Weather is a daily occurence, while climate is a measure of the typical weather patterns an area experiences over time.
Next Week : We will start our next chapter, Earth's Processes and Resources (page 182-188 on McGraw Hill). We will start by exploring weathering of rocks and Earths surface, the slow process that breaks materials into smaller pieces. We will comparing the weathering effects of wind, ice, and water.
This Week : We learned about mid-19th century Texas including the Civil War, Texas Secession, the opposition of Sam Houston and Edmund J Davis, Important Battles in Texas, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the surrender at Appoattox Court House.
Next Week : We will learn about mid-19th century Texas including Reconstruction post-war. This newspaper will include Andrew Johnson's presidency post-Lincoln, Economic Challenges for Texas, Constitutional Changes, and Immigration to the US.
