This week, we began our unit in Geometry. We covered some foundational TEKS before progressing on to more conceptual and abstract geometric topics. Part of this unit will include spatial awareness which in geometry is the ability to understand and visualize the position, orientation, and relationships between shapes and objects in space. Later in the unit we will focus on fractions.
In reading, we began our nonfiction unit and are learning about nonfiction text features and how they help us learn about a topic. Students are enjoying reading some nonfiction encyclopedias and atlases as well! In writing, we began our nonfiction writing unit and students are choosing a topic they know a lot about to teach others.Ā
In science we began our unit on bodies of weather.Ā
