Reading & Language Arts:
I can understand a prefix and how it affects the meaning of a word.
I can understand a suffix and how it affects the meaning of a word.
I can understand author's purpose.
I can apply strategies to examine the author’s purpose.
I can construct an extended response to a passage.
I can use my knowledge of root words to determine the meaning of unknown words.
I can identify and gather relevant information from a variety of sources.
3rd Grade Math:
I can represent fractions greater than zero and less than or equal to one in different ways, using concrete objects as part of a whole.
I can model fractions, using number lines and strip diagrams.
I can partitioning a set of objects in mathematical and real-world problem situations
I can determining the corresponding fraction greater than zero and less than or equal to one with denominators of 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 given a specified point on a number line.
Science:
I can describe and identify rapid changes to Earth's surface, such as volcanoes, earthquakes, and landslides, and explain how they affect the land.
I can identify natural resources, like water, soil, and minerals, and explain why it is important to conserve and protect them.
Social Studies:
I can identify ways in which businesses have become successful.
We are excited to announce a three-week summer camp opportunity for GT students who will be entering grades 3-5 in the fall called DECATS! Space is limited, so be sure to register soon if you are interested. Miss Hayes, Mr. Henrickson, Mrs. Griffard, and Mr. Parthemore (all Glenhope teachers) will be mentor teachers for all three weeks as well as some other wonderful teachers.
