3 Mondays and 2 Fridays
Fun fact: This school year has only 3 Mondays and 2 Fridays left!
Various countdowns are in full force as we approach the end of the school year, and some students have already mentioned the need to stay focused during the time we have left. Previously, we've mentioned how significant this step (5th-grade graduation) is for your kiddos, but it's also a big step for all of you. This is one of those "my kid is getting older" moments, which can be challenging. However, these moments evoke immense pride, often prompting happy tears. We, too, are proud of your kiddos and their hard work this year!
Over the next three weeks, we will continue to help our students feel prepared for middle school and provide them with some final elementary school memories. These last days allow us to breathe, which feels great after our STAAR tests. We will breathe deep the spring air that will lead us into summer, and we will soon acknowledge each of your children at the end of this chapter. While we will become side characters in each of their stories, we will forever be champions for them, silently sending them encouragement in the background.

The invite below indicates date and time(s). Please arrive early enough so that you can get signed in at the front vestibule!
**Please note: All 5th graders will be presenting the entire time; we have staggered the times for guests in order to accommodate such a large group in our classrooms**
Parr Park field trip forms were sent home with 5th graders on Wednesday. There are a total of four forms to complete (three on paper and one digital). Please return those to us by Monday, May 12th. Just to remind you, our trip is Wednesday, May 21st. If the forms didn't make their way home, we have linked them below for you:
Google Form - Parr Park Lunch Selection (All students must fill out, even if they are bringing lunch)
We have a goal this year for all 5th-grade students (and teachers) to complete 12 hours of community service outside of the school day by the end of the year (6 hours per semester). Students who achieve 6 hours by December 13, 2024, and an additional 6 hours by May 9, 2025, will receive a party to celebrate their achievements. When your child completes community service, please be sure they are logging their time in the Google Form linked below. We have hung a tracker poster (pictured here to the right) in the 5th-grade hallway to track the hours completed as the school year progresses. We cannot wait to see the tracker fill up!
Also, if you snap photos of your child during community service, please send them to us! We would love to see the work they are doing.
Carter/Robertson/Wahpekeche Community Service Log
SO FAR, 5TH GRADE STUDENTS ARE OVER 650 HOURS FOR THIS SEMESTER!
Also, if you snap photos of your child during their community service, please send them our way! We would love to see the work they are doing. We have included some photos we have received so far (to the right). It makes our hearts so happy to see students volunteering in their community!
