Spring Break
In math we began a unit on Number Sense which will also include more complex Addition and Subtraction. We learned about the creative thinking strategy called SCAMPER and how this can relate to numbers and the history of numbers.Â
In reading, we wrote a summary completely independently and used a rubric to help guide us. This came home in your child's backpack this week. In writing we continued nonfiction writing to teach others about topics we are experts on

Language Arts: I can use text features to learn about a topic. I can write a nonfiction writing piece.Â
Math: I can tell time to the hour and half hour.
Science: I can describe and record observable characteristics of weather, including hot or cold, clear or cloudy, calm or windy, and rainy or icy, and explain the impact of weather on daily choices.Â
Social Studies: I can locate places using the four cardinal directions. I can create and use simple maps.Â
