This week, we enjoyed completing some holiday math activities that required critical thinking! We also took our 2nd 9 Weeks TEKS Check.Ā
In reading, we read holiday books and practiced writing a retell including the beginning, middle, and end. I also read with students one-on-one to do more MOY assessments.Ā
In science we began our unit on bodies of water. We investigated and compared the properties of puddles, ponds, streams, rivers, lakes, and oceans, including color, clarity, size, shape, and whether it is freshwater or saltwater.
In social studies, we continued our studies of traditions and the role they play in culture.Ā
Language Arts: I can use text evidence to answer questions about a text.Ā
Math: I can use concrete and pictorial models to compose and decompose numbers to 99. I can use objects, pictures, and expanded and standard form to represent numbers.
Science: I can identify and describe how plants, animals, and humans use rocks, soil, and water.
Social Studies: I can explain that a community is a group of people who live and learn in the same place.Ā
