Welcome Back! We have had a great start back to school in 2nd grade! We want your students be their most successful self this semester. To help them be prepared for school and learning please help us with the following items!
Have your child read out loud as much as possible. Read together and make it enjoyable!
Be sure to help your child charge their ipads every evening for school.
Label everything! Jackets, gloves, hats, sweatshirts, water bottles, etc.
If you are able, please send headphones with your child every day!

Language Arts:
Students will recognize and understand cause and effect.
Students will use correct grammar and spelling rules in their writing.
Students will be able to recognize the vowel teams to make a long A sound.
Math:
Students will be able to create and analyze a pictograph and a bar graph.
Students will be able to generate word problems pertaining to data on a graph.
Science/ Social Studies:
Students will observe different weather patterns.
Students will be able to identify and label bodies of water and landforms such as continents, oceans, United States, Texas and the capital city of Austin.

Please pack one NUT FREE snack for your child every day in their backpacks. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide snacks for the class.
Teachers are allowed to have pre-packaged Veggie Straws or Skinny Pop (original flavors) on hand for students who may forget. If you are able, and would like to provide any to your homeroom teachers, we would be very appreciative.

Handle With Care
Handle With Care
A green note when home with your children in their Take Home Folders this week. This is simply to let you know that we understand that the mornings can sometimes be a challenge for students. Sometimes they are anxious or sad about something at home. Sometimes their allergies are giving them trouble. Sometimes they simply are exhausted and need a little extra love and hugs from us. We get it and want to best support your child. If you find that your child is having one of these mornings, please just send us an email and all that you need to say is "Handle with care". We will get the message and be sure to give your child extra support and understanding that day.
Please remind your students that toys must stay at home. Toys, lip gloss, stuffies, and trading cards are not allowed at school, unless otherwise specified by teachers. Thank you!
