New and returning students can register for the 2025-2026 school year.
GCISD is in the planning stages for the 2025-2026 school year. It is important for you to register your child as soon as possible, as it will affect the number of teachers retained on every campus in the district. Thank you!
Please note our STAAR testing dates below. On testing days, Glenhope is closed to visitors so please keep that in mind. Additionally, we would appreciate you not scheduling any appointments on these days, as students will have to miss class time during the testing window to make up the STAAR testing they missed. If they miss a STAAR exam, they will have to spend an entire day of school when they return to make that test up.

Each nine weeks, we will have students who will have a classroom job as a "newsletter helper." Their job is to write a one-sentence highlight Mon-Thurs each week in order to give you a glimpse into the classroom. We hope you enjoy :-)
Week: Mar 31 - Apr 4
In ELAR, we have started working on an argument/debate.
In SCIENCE we are working on making a presentation. This presentation includes the answers to different probes (questions).
In SOCIAL STUDIES we are working on making a travel brochure (In the 1800s).
Hayes/Weinstein Community Service Photos (keep scrolling!)
We have a goal this year for all 5th-grade students (and teachers) to complete 12 hours of community service outside of the school day by the end of the year (6 hours per semester). Students who achieve 6 hours by December 13, 2024, and an additional 6 hours by May 9, 2025, will receive a party to celebrate their achievements. When your child completes community service, please be sure they are logging their time in the Google Form linked below. We have hung a tracker poster (pictured here to the left) in the 5th-grade hallway to track the hours completed as the school year progresses. We cannot wait to see the tracker fill up!
SO FAR, 5TH GRADE STUDENTS ARE OVER 600 HOURS FOR THIS SEMESTER!
Also, if you snap photos of your child during their community service, please send them our way! We would love to see the work they are doing. We have included some of the photos we have received so far (to the right). It makes our hearts so happy to see students volunteering in their community!
Early voting for the upcoming GCISD board election will begin April 22nd and continues until April 29th. If you miss early voting, election day is Saturday, May 3rd. For more details, click the link below:
