ROCKIN' REVIEW WEEK 3!
Reading: We will wrap up our Rockin' Review and get ready to take the STAAR on Wednesday.
Writing: We will review writing skills that we have learned this year and differences between SCR/ECR.
Grammar: We will review
Reading STAAR Vocabulary - Please have students continue to study all of the words on Canvas or the handouts I sent earlier this year. Being familiar with these terms will help them on the STAAR.
Next Week: This week, we will finish up our geometry unit. We will classify 2-dimensional figures based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines or based on the presence or absence of angles of a specified size.
Unit 9 Assessment: April 11th
Help from home: practice multiplication (two-digit x two-digit) and division (three-digit divided by one-digit) equations.
This Week : We explored electric energy and how it transfers/travels through conductors of electricity. We determined the difference between thermal and light energy that electric energy can create, as well as conductors and insulators and their differences.
Next Week : We will conduct experiments with conductors and insulators of electrical energy. We will determine how energy flows through a circuit and how conductors/insulators can change paths of energy.
This Week : We learned about Texas at the start of World War 2, and the major events/Texas heroes of that war.
Next Week : We will learn about advancements in science and technology after WW2, including changes to the oil and natural gas industry, space travel, and population growth.
Thank you to everyone who has sent in supplies! These are a few items we could still use more of in the classrooms to make it through the rest of the year. Thank you!

Mints for STAAR testing
Please note our STAAR testing dates below. On testing days, Glenhope is closed to visitors so please keep that in mind. Additionally, we would appreciate you not scheduling any appointments on these days, as students will have to miss class time during the testing window to make up the STAAR testing they missed. If they miss a STAAR exam, they will have to spend an entire day of school when they return to make that test up.
