Module 4 Assessment Friday, November 15th
Next Week: We will start our new unit and begin problem solving with multiplication and division! This week, we will focus on using properties of operations and place value to multiply a number by 10 or 100 then learn ways to represent multiplication using arrays, area models, and standard algorithm.
This Week : We took our science test over inherited/acquired traits and the structures and functions of plants. We used magnifying glasses to investigate plant structures (leaves, roots, seeds, stems) and made sketches of our findings. We identified the functions of the structures and discussed why they have them with a book.
Next Week : We will start our next unit "Energy Flow within Ecosystems" which broadly covers producers/consumers of energy, food webs, and fossils. This will be chapter 10 of McGraw Hill starting on student page 316. Starting with producers we will investigate and explain how producers make their own food using sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide, and how matter cycles through the lens of plants.
This Week : We took our Unit 3 Social Studies test over European Exploration and Spanish settlement in current day Mexico.
Next Week : We will start our next unit "Texas Revolution" about current day Texas leaving Mexico, becoming a Republic, the battle of the Alamo, and Texas Independence. We will complete a Texas Independence Timeline as our daily grade this week.
