Holiday Party
Our classroom holiday parties are on Thursday, December 19th from 1:30-2:30pm in your child's classroom. All parents are invited to come and enjoy the celebration. Please make sure to come early to sign in at the office. Our wonderful room parents will have snacks and games set up for the kids. We really appreciate all the parents who have donated time and items for the upcoming party.
If you would like to send in stocking stuffers next week to your student to stuff everyone's stockings, please make sure that you send in enough items for every student in their homeroom class. Thanks!
For the month of December, students are invited to celebrate the holiday season and participate in dress up days along with teachers and staff. Here is the calendar full of fun dress up days for the whole month. We are excited to see lots of festive outfits and accessories!
What We're Learning!
Module 5 Teamwork
I will be showing students what we collected all those cereal boxes for during Module 5! We will be using all of our reading skills and knowledge of fairy tales, tall tales, and fractured fairy tales to create a cereal box book report.
Students will explain relationships among characters.
Students will explain the influence of setting on plot.
Students will identify and explain the author’s purpose.
Students will articulate the author’s purpose using the words entertain and inform.
Next week students will work on solving multipllication and division word problems. We will also continue to work on mastering our multiplication facts!
Students are creating websites to help them review for out upcoming District 3rd Grade TEKS Check Assessment. It will cover chapters 8, 9, and 10 in the McGraw Hill Online Text.
Ask you child to see their website this weekend. We have created a home page, and pages to review: Animal Structures and Functions, Insect Life Cycles, Plant Life Cycles, Migration/Hibernation, Dormancy, Food Chains, Natural Changes, and Fossils.
Students worked on a review today in class. They were instructed to use the review to study this weekend for the test on Monday. They were also told to take home science journals to help them study and to correct/update any assignments that need to be complete. All grades for second semester will be wrapped up by wednesday next week.
3.10 CULTURE. The student understands ethnic and/or cultural celebrations of the local community and other communities. The student is expected to explain the significance of various ethnic and/or cultural celebrations in the local community, and other communities. Studies Weekly Newspaper Week 23
Students will also be taking a District Teks Check for the 2nd 9 weeks of Social Studies on Wednesday. We will review on Tuesday next week.
Repeated Information:
Please help up by reminding students to charge their Chromebooks each night. It is very important that their Chromebooks come to school fully charged each morning. We use these for classwork daily as well as taking tests. When Chromebooks are not charged, it becomes a disruption to student learning for the day. We appreciate your help with this!
