Time Flies
We are officially down to 8 and a half days! The whole school has that familiar end-of-the-school-year energy. Our fifth graders are excited about our Parr Park field trip, Gator Games, the softball game, and graduation. It's safe to say they are ready for summer, even though many have said they will miss being at Glenhope. We will miss all of your kiddos, but we also can't wait to hear about their future accomplishments. As we've said, they may not feel entirely ready for middle school, but we know they are. We've told them to trust themselves and their abilities and not to be afraid to ask for help. Self-advocacy is one of the most essential skills they will need throughout middle school.
Hopefully, some of you can join us for some or all of our upcoming activities. The joy amongst the students is infectious and is one of our favorite things to witness. Their smiles are big and beautiful, and their laughter sounds similar to when they were toddlers. There will be plenty of moments for them to be kids, which is lovely. We'll all enjoy it as much as we can before we say goodbye. As the year winds down, thank you for supporting us and your kiddos. Growth isn't exclusive to students; we grow in various ways alongside each group of students we teach and are forever grateful.

The Middle School Course Verification Window will be open in Skyward May 14 -19. During this window, students and parents will be able to view requested courses for the 2025-26 school year and verify that the listed courses are correct.
Please click the link below for instructions on how to view your student's requested courses in Skyward, learn about important information regarding requesting changes to middle school courses, and to access the "Course Verification Request Change Form" for your student's specific campus should you need to request a change to the requested courses for the 2025-26 school year.
Note, the list of courses you will be able to see in Skyward is NOT the student's schedule; this is only the list of courses that have been requested for your student for the 2025-26 school year.
Thank you to everyone for all of the thoughtful notes and gifts that made us feel special this week for Teacher Appreciation Week. Teaching your children is truly a blessing for us!
All student assignments are due by Tuesday, 5/13. Any assignment missing after that date will receive a grade of zero.
Students will be hard at work over the next few weeks researching important history and people of a chosen decade in the 20th century. We would love for you to be present for their showcase of work! The invite below indicates date and time(s). Please arrive early enough so that you can get signed in at the front vestibule!
**Please note: All 5th graders will be presenting the entire time; we have staggered the times for guests in order to accommodate such a large group in our classrooms**
Parr Park field trip forms were sent home with 5th graders on Wednesday. There are a total of four forms to complete (three on paper and one digital). Please return those to us by Monday, May 12th. Just to remind you, our trip is Wednesday, May 21st. If the forms didn't make their way home, we have linked them below for you:

Thanks to our amazing PTA and our sponsor Bull Creek Pipeline we have been able to cover the costs of nearly all of our 5th grade activities during the year and for graduation. The one thing we could use parent help on is drinks for the kids on graduation. I have linked the signup genius below. Please note we want all of the drinks delivered the day BEFORE graduation so we can get everything on ice early Thursday morning. Thanks so much

-5th Graduation Committee
We have a goal this year for all 5th-grade students (and teachers) to complete 12 hours of community service outside of the school day by the end of the year (6 hours per semester). Students who achieve 6 hours by December 13, 2024, and an additional 6 hours by May 9, 2025, will receive a party to celebrate their achievements. When your child completes community service, please be sure they are logging their time in the Google Form linked below. We have hung a tracker poster (pictured here to the right) in the 5th-grade hallway to track the hours completed as the school year progresses. We cannot wait to see the tracker fill up!
Also, if you snap photos of your child during community service, please send them to us! We would love to see the work they are doing.
Carter/Robertson/Wahpekeche Community Service Log

Also, if you snap photos of your child during their community service, please send them our way! We would love to see the work they are doing. We have included some photos we have received so far (to the right). It makes our hearts so happy to see students volunteering in their community!
