Every day before school next week, students can purchase a Teacher Gram for $1.00 and write a note of gratitude to their favorite teachers. Students are encouraged to spread the love to as many teachers as they would like. Teacher Grams will be displayed outside the teacher's classrooms throughout the week.

Next Week: We will continue working on using different strategies and algorithms to find the product for 4-digit multiplied by 1-digit and 2-digit multiplied by 2-digit numbers.
Please try and work on multiplication facts at home. Having those memorized helps multiplying multi-digit numbers.
This Week : We will start our next unit "Energy Flow within Ecosystems" which broadly covers producers/consumers of energy, food webs, and fossils. This will be chapter 10 of McGraw Hill starting on student page 316. Starting with producers we will investigate and explain how producers make their own food using sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide, and how matter cycles through the lens of plants.
Next Week : We will move on to how consumers and producers fit together in food webs within ecosystems. Starting on page 326 of our science textbook, we will learn about energy transfer from producers (plants) to consumers (animals/insects/humans/etc) and introduce the recurring pattern of energy cycles in science.
This Week : We started our new unit "Texas Revolution" about current day Texas leaving Mexico, becoming a Republic, the battle of the Alamo, and Texas Independence. We completed a Texas Independence Timeline as our daily grade this week.
Next Week : We will discuss influential figures of the Texas Revolution including William B Travis, James Bowie, Davy Crockett, Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, Placido Benavides, Jose Francisco Ruiz, Juan N Seguin, Enrique Esparza, and Susanna Dickinson. Students will discuss their contributions to the revolution and compare their leadership.
