We had another great week in 3rd grade! Students have been working hard in all of their classes. We have already seen them gain so much independence this year. Our character trait for this month is Responsibility. This week we have been talking about why it is important to be responsible and times that it is hard to be responsible.
We have enjoyed meeting with you all and sharing all of the great things that your student has been doing this year! If you have not signed up for a conference and would like to, here is the link to sign up. If you have any questions about your child's progress this year, please feel free to reach out to their homeroom teacher.
*We still need a few items as well as goodie bags for each class! Please sign up if you are able to send something in. If you signed up, please send the item in by next Friday (10/25)!
On Halloween, students will be going “math-or-treating” where they will solve math problems for “treats!” For this, we need 10 different small Halloween/fall related non-food items for each class. Target and Walmart have a lot of options out right now (spider rings, pencils, erasers, small fidgets, etc.)! If you would like to send something in for us to use for this activity, please click the sign up link for your child's homeroom class. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Mrs. Ulrich. Thanks!

We wanted to share the grading policy with everyone again. If you have any questions please be sure to reach out to us on Rooms or email. For more detailed information please go to the GCISD website.
**Board Policy allows a student who receives a failing grade on a test or assignment, except for semester exams, the opportunity to redo the assignment or retake the test. The Redo/Retake guideline does not apply if a student does not submit work promptly. The student or parent must initiate the request, within 5 school days, and the grade the student receives on the redone assignment or retaken test will be no higher than a 70.**
We will not be open before school.
In the past, the “before school shopping” has caused students to be very, very late to class.
Shopping time for grades 2-5: anytime between 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Many grade levels choose to let students shop only during their recess time. I will have volunteers here to help during those busy recess times.

Repeated Information:
Please pack one NUT FREE snack for your child every day in their backpacks.
Please help up by reminding students to charge their Chromebooks each night. It is very important that their Chromebooks come to school fully charged each morning. We use these for classwork daily as well as taking tests. When Chromebooks are not charged, it becomes a disruption to student learning for the day. We appreciate your help with this!
Please remind your students that toys must stay at home. Toys, stuffies, and trading cards are not allowed at school, unless otherwise specified by teachers.
