It's been an incredible few weeks at school. We know that students are still learning procedures and making new friends, but they are doing a great job of adjusting. This last week has been full of iready assessments and we are proud of their work ethic and drive to complete those with a positive attitude.
Also, thank you to all of those who were able to attend Curriculum Night. We have attached the presentation below. We also have physical packets. Just let us know if you would like one of those.
Lastly, thank you to our amazing PTA and Dad's club for taking such great care of us. We feel constantly loved and cared for and cannot thank you enough.
With the exception of a few, your child finished their iready assessments this week. It will take a few weeks for us to go through all of the data and set goals for our students. A report for your child will be sent home soon with their scores and summary of what the next steps are.
Following their adaptive and diagnostic assessments, the platform automatically creates a "my path" for each student based on their needs and with lessons to support their growth in reading and math. For each lesson complete, the student earn coins that allow them to purchase games to play in between lessons. They are also able to go into the platform and see their progress through their path. Should a student wish to do "my path" at home, we just ask that you let them complete it on their own.
Please pack one NUT FREE snack for your child every day in their backpacks. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide snacks for the class.
A green note when home with your children in their Take Home Folders this week. This is simply to let you know that we understand that the mornings can sometimes be a challenge for students. Sometimes they are anxious or sad about something at home. Sometimes their allergies are giving them trouble. Sometimes they simply are exhausted and need a little extra love and hugs from us. We get it and want to best support your child. If you find that your child is having one of these mornings, please just send us an email and all that you need to say is "Handle with care". We will get the message and be sure to give your child extra support and understanding that day.
Students have been very excited about getting their library books. Several students have asked to take their library books home with them and others leave them at home. If your child brings their books home, we just ask that they live in their backpacks so that they have them at school to read.
To best help each day, students should come with a charged chromebook, their Take Home Folder, and a snack. We ask that students don't bring small toys or stuffed animals to school unless for a specific reward day. Thank you!
