Just a reminder that any late assignments need to be turned in the Tuesday before the grading period ends, which is Tuesday, March 11th. Late assignments not turned in by that due date will receive a grade of zero.
Thank you to everyone who made it out to Open House last night. We loved seeing you all!
Thanks to everyone who has donated materials for our 5th grade Glow Day on April 4th. We sincerely appreciate it. There are still materials on our list that are very much needed, which we have noted with a "highest" or "high" priority. For example, every classroom will need 3-4 blacklight bars for the day to really be "Glow Day." The 5th grade wish list is below. We are very excited to provide this day of learning for students!
5th Grade Glow Day Supply Wish List
**Please note: this list will provide all 5th grade classrooms with the necessary supplies they need for Glow Day**
The 5th Grade Committee is working hard on preparing an amazing graduation for our 5th Grade Gators. A tradition during graduation is for the graduation slideshow to include a baby picture, a kindergarten picture, and a 5th grade picture of EVERY student. To make that happen, we need help from all our parents.
In the Google form below you can upload the necessary pictures of your Gator. Please make sure you are only filling out ONE form per student, so mom, if you fill it out, let dad know not to and vice versa.
We will also need you to name each picture with your students name and what picture it is (IE- "Sam Cross Baby Picture" "Sam Cross Kinder Picture" and "Sam Cross 5th Grade Picture.") There are 112 5th graders which means hundreds of pictures and having them labeled is the only way we can make sure every student is included.
Individual 5th Grade Grad Photos
The second Google form is for group pictures. Parents may send in up to 3 group pictures to include in the slide show as well. Pictures must have been taken ON campus or at a school sponsored event (field trip or camp) and they must be submitted by April 4. If they do not meet these criteria, they will not be included.

Hayes/Weinstein Community Service Photos (keep scrolling!)
We have a goal this year for all 5th-grade students (and teachers) to complete 12 hours of community service outside of the school day by the end of the year (6 hours per semester). Students who achieve 6 hours by December 13, 2024, and an additional 6 hours by May 9, 2025, will receive a party to celebrate their achievements. When your child completes community service, please be sure they are logging their time in the Google Form linked below. We have hung a tracker poster (pictured here to the left) in the 5th-grade hallway to track the hours completed as the school year progresses. We cannot wait to see the tracker fill up!
SO FAR, 5TH GRADE STUDENTS ARE OVER 590 HOURS FOR THIS SEMESTER!
Also, if you snap photos of your child during their community service, please send them our way! We would love to see the work they are doing. We have included some of the photos we have received so far (to the right). It makes our hearts so happy to see students volunteering in their community!
We are excited to announce a three-week summer camp opportunity for GT students who will be entering grades 3-5 in the fall called DECATS!
