GT LEAD Information Night will be the same evening as the Parent Information Night.
I will offer two sessions on Thursday, August 29:
Session I- 5:15-6:00 Session II- 6:00-6:45
Dear GT LEAD Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful summer and a great start to a new school year. While GT students were getting to know their classroom teachers and getting used to new routines and procedures, I have been busily preparing for a great year ahead of us. Our first day of GT LEAD classes is next Monday August 26th.
GT LEAD classes will begin with a full schedule on Monday, August 26th.
GT Orientation Night is Thursday, August 29th. All GT LEAD parents are invited to join me for a presentation and Q&A session in room B116 from 5:15-6:00 or 6:00-7:45. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to make an appointment to visit with me or call/email with any questions. I look forward to introducing myself to you and sharing a little bit about the GT LEAD program and what to expect for this year. I hope to see many of you then!
First Grade: Tuesdays 9:30-10:30 & 11:30-12:00
Second Grade: Tuesdays 12:15-2:15
Third Grade: Thursdays 10:10-11:10 & 1:55-2:55
Fourth Grade: Mondays 9:25- 10:30 & 12:15-1:40
Fifth Grade: Fridays 9:25-11:15 & 1:00-1:40
Supplies for GT LEAD Class:
Please bring this item at your convenience. They will be shared by all grade levels K-5 during the school year. (If you sent in a folder for your student last year I still have it.) Thank you so much!
1st grade
Package of Sharpies (fine or extra fine), Orange Folder with pockets
2nd grade
Package of Crayola Markers (fat or thin), Green Folder with pockets
3rd grade
Package of low-temp small glue sticks, Blue Folder with pockets
4th grade
Box of plastic baggies (snack, sandwich or quart), Yellow Folder with pockets
5th grade
Roll of paper towels, Red Folder with pockets
When parenting a gifted/talented child, it is important to factor in the social/emotional well-being, as well as to look ahead and plan down the road several years. I am here to advocate for your children, as well as to be a resource for you to other opportunities within our district. One way you can stay connected and advocate for your child is through SAGE (Supporting and Advocating for Gifted Education), our parent advocacy group for gifted learners. They often bring in guest speakers, invite representatives for camps/programs to share, and provide scholarships for teachers to attend gifted conferences.
