Welcome Fall!
It's been a great few weeks in 2nd grade. Procedures are done and we are rocking and rolling. We ask that you continue to partner with us and your child to help them be best prepared for 2nd grade.
-Please read with or have your child read each day.
-Practice the math addition and subtraction facts from 1-20
-Help remind them to charge their ipads each evening
-Check their yellow folders for any papers or important information

Language Arts:I can determine the author's purpose and central idea of a given text. I can make inferences using text evidence. I can write complete sentences using a subject and a predicate. *Please be reading at least 15 minutes every night with your child.
Math: I can determine compare and order numbers based on place value using the symbols <, > and =. I can use comparative language to compare and order numbers up to 1,200.
Social Studies: I can learn how following the rules helps to show respect and be a good citizen.
Science: I can classify matter through observable properties.

Keep an eye out for more information coming soon. Students came home with an order form for you to order pictures online. All pictures will be done before lunch and recess. Students are welcome to bring a change of clothes to change into after pictures are taken.

Please pack one NUT FREE snack for your child every day in their backpacks. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide snacks for the class.
Handle With Care
Handle With Care
A green note when home with your children in their Take Home Folders this week. This is simply to let you know that we understand that the mornings can sometimes be a challenge for students. Sometimes they are anxious or sad about something at home. Sometimes their allergies are giving them trouble. Sometimes they simply are exhausted and need a little extra love and hugs from us. We get it and want to best support your child. If you find that your child is having one of these mornings, please just send us an email and all that you need to say is "Handle with care". We will get the message and be sure to give your child extra support and understanding that day.
