This week, we completed our Middle of Year Math iReady Diagnostic.Ā
In reading, we continued our author study on Jan Brett to learn all about what makes her special as an author. She has so many amazing children's books for this time of the year! We are going to be learning about features of fiction books like author's lesson, character development, writing summaries, comparing and contrasting books, making connections, and many other story element activities!
In science we began our unit on bodies of water. We investigated and compared the properties of puddles, ponds, streams, rivers, lakes, and oceans, including color, clarity, size, shape, and whether it is freshwater or saltwater.
In social studies, we continued our studies of traditions and the role they play in culture.Ā
We enjoyed a performance from the Texas Boy's Choir this week!Ā
