In order to get credit for this project you must watch the following film and submit the filled in worksheet:

Cold War Episode 5: The Korean War

Vietnam Conflict, 1950-1954

The Korean War: Vietnam version 1.0. Although Korea is often called the "Forgotten War" the Vietminh certainly didn't forget it and neither should we have. This conflict, like Vietnam fought to "contain" communism, claimed 54,000 American lives over a two year period of fighting. The Korean War was the first major "hot" war (Vietnam being the second) the US fought against communists enforcing the policy of containment in Asia. Although fairly short lived, the war that began as a local affair ended up being a massive conflict involving the US and 16 allies on the side of South Korea and both China and Russia on the side of North Korea. Episode 5 of the CNN series Cold War documents this war in great detail and is great for anyone interested in learning more about our this forgotten war. Project Credit: Download the movie worksheet attached here and fill out as you watch the film, then submit the filled out worksheet. I hope you enjoy this film as much as I did.
