Napoleon Part 2, Mastering Luck

Europe, 1797-1804:

Because of his luck in the Italian Campaign, young general Napoleon Bonaparte is sent back to Austria to defeat the Austrian Army and knock them out of the war, which he accomplishes by the end of 1797.Napoleon parlays his rising popularity into something greater and he takes over the French government, and between 1800-1803 he stabilizes the French economy and government, making France the most powerful nation on the European Continent. Mastering Luck describes how Napoleon came to control France and describes some of his political achievements. Napoleon Bonaparte is perhaps the best symbol of the important new political and spiritual forces that eventually transformed nearly every government in Europe during the 19th century. Napoleon would ultimately spread the ideals of the French Revolution to every corner of the continent and awaken a nationalistic desire in the hearts of many Europeans that would have devastating consequences in the 20th century.  Project Credit: In order to get credit for watching this film, download the movie worksheet attached here, fill out the questions as you watch the film, and submit the completed movie worksheet.
