World War 1: Total War 1.0

I will be hosting a live class at 10:00 am MT on Thu, 2-16 on the topic of World War 1, the first fully industrial war. Fought between 1914-1918, WWI produced more casualties than any previous war, destroyed several European Empires, and bankrupted most participants. The primary reason that WWI was so costly and destructive was that this war was a fully industrial and total war-one where the economic and industrial resources of its participants were brought fully to bear in the war effort. In this class we will discuss WWI and how this total war changed the basic relationship between the citizen and his state. Project Credit: Attendance in this live class will fulfill the requirements of your live class assignment for this unit.
