Decolonization (1945-1975)

I will be hosting a live class at 1:00 pm MT on Thu, 5-24 on the topic of Decolonization. Colonial Asia, Africa, and South America, 1945: As Europe lay in ruins because of WWII, nationalist movements that have existed in the various colonies for decades at this point realize that their best chance for independence from their former colonial masters is at hand. One by one, the former colonies rebel and the devastated nations of Europe face the choice of fighting independence movements in their former colonies or letting them go, and some nations comes to peace with the process better than others, but by 1975 virtually all the former colonies have been dissolved. This class will cover some of the various independence movements to emerge from the era and cover some of the important events of decolonization.
