The Century, America's Time is a series done by ABC in the 1990's that tells the story of the twentieth century, a century dominated by technology, destruction, and a time when America became the world's greatest economic and political power. "The Seeds of Change" is the first episode of this series and documents the years 1900-1914, a time of enormous transformation for America: 13 million immigrants arrived in the country during this era, skyscrapers were born, mass production flooded the nation with automobiles, the Panama Canal was built, and a host of technological innovations transformed life for American citizens.
