The Great War: War Without End

Postwar Europe, 1918-1922:

War Without End is the final Episode of an 8 part series on WWI done by the BBC called the Great War. This episode specifically documents the years 1918-1922, a time of great physical, economic, and emotional devastation for Europeans who had just seen the most destructive war in history waged on their continent. I chose to use this film because it does an excellent job describing the psychological consequences of WWI through stories, images, and art. While Americans were enjoying the "Roaring Twenties" with jazz music, short skirts, and illegal booze, the Europeans were going through a different experience altogether. This film offers the viewer a partial explanation for the rise of the destructive forces that would be unleashed in Europe in the 1930's. Project Credit: In order to get credit for watching this film, download the movie worksheet attached here, fill out the questions as you watch the film, and submit the completed movie worksheet.  I have used this film for years to explain the rise of the Bolshevik, Fascist, and Nazi movements. I hope you enjoy.
