Week 1: 3-12 to 3-16
Post date: Mar 15, 2012 8:16:10 PM
At this point you should have received your study guide, Barron's AP United States History with CD ROM, by Eugene Resnick. Upon getting the book, you should have read chapters 1-2, pages 1-9, and taken and self-graded the multiple choice part of the 1st practice exam, pages 349-374. The practice exam gives you a baseline of where you are at and how much work you'll need for the multiple choice part of the test. Our goal is 70% and above, which is 56/80 correct. Don't worry if you didn't make that, but make it your goal. Things to do this week.
Meet with the group on Monday, 3-12. We went over the plan for the next 8 weeks and categorized our docs for the first DBQ. If you were unable to attend or want to listen to this again, here is the link:Â View the Blackboard Collaborate recording
Finish the New Deal DBQ before Friday, 3-16.
Read and do multiple choice questions for chapters 3-6 of the Barron's book. IMPORTANT: Make a word doc titled, "Unit 1: Ch 3-10 (Prehistory-1844)". List a "key term" for all m.c. questions you miss in each chapter, and paste or write a para definition for each key term from Wikipedia and read about the term there as you do this. Finish by Friday, 3-16.
Meet with the Group on Friday, 3-16. We will meet from 3:30-4:30 on Friday, 3-16 in my classroom. We will "debrief" on the New Deal DBQ and briefly go over schedule for rest of Unit 1 material. I will assign you the 2004 DBQ that must be finished before 3-23. To get to this meeting, click the following link:Trehal's Elluminate Classroom
