American Experience: Triangle Fire

Ever wondered what working conditions were like in 1911? The Triangle Fire is a 1 hour American Experience documentary that describes the Triangle Factory Fire of 1911, the worst industrial accident in New York State's history. The fire resulted in the passage of 30 new laws regulating industry, labor, and safety, including the placement of sprinklers inside buildings to prevent fire. The Triangle Fire highlighted one of the great flaws in the Gilded Age and created more support for Progressive Reformers calling for increased regulation over industry. If you watch this riveting documentary, you will see industry in a different age and never take our modern labor laws for granted.
