Asia, 13th-14th centuries: Want to know the story of Genghis Khan and the Mongolian Empire? The Barbarians is an excellent series done by the History Channel that tells the story of four Germanic tribes that moved into Europe during the early Middle Ages. Because the series was so popular, four more tribes were added, including the infamous Mongols, who created the largest land empire the world has ever seen.  The Mongols begins with the rise of Temujin, who history will remember as Genghis Khan, and documents the spectacular success of the Mongols is conquering much of the Asian land mass. In the 13th and 14th centuries, the Mongols played a pivotal role in the fall of the Islamic Empire and changed the history of the planet by creating a trade network that spanned all of Asia.  Project Credit: Download the movie worksheet attached here and fill out as you watch the film, then submit filled out worksheet to receive points.
